And whereas the said Bills were severally presented to the Superintendent of the Province of Otago for the assent of His Excellency the Governor of New Zealand thereto, and the said Superintendent did upon the said several Bills being so presented to him as aforesaid declare that he reserved the same respectively for the signification of the Governor's pleasure thereon: And whereas the said several Bills have since been laid before His Excellency the Governor of New Zealand, and he has been pleased to assent to the same.
Now therefore I, James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, do hereby proclaim and declare that the said several Bills before-mentioned, that is to say:—"The Otago Roads Ordinance 1871," "The Roads Diversion Ordinance 1871," "The Portobello School Glebe Exchange Ordinance 1871," "The Sale of Land to Dunedin City Validation Ordinance 1871," "The Clyde School Reserve Sale Ordinance 1871," "The Northern Agricultural and Pastoral Reserve Management Ordinance 1871," "The Ferry and Accommodation House Reserves Leasing Ordinance 1871," "The Invercargill Reserve Leasing Ordinance 1871," "The Blueskin Market Reserve Ordinance 1871," "The District Roads Compulsory Land Taking Ordinance 1871," "The Hampden Mechanics' Institute Reserve Management Ordinance 1871," "The Oamaru Drill Shed Reserve Management Ordinance 1871," "The Invercargill Athenaeum Reserve Management Ordinance 1871," and "The Education Reserves Management and Leasing Ordinance 1871," have been laid before His Excellency the Governor of New Zealand, and that His Excellency has assented to the same.
Given under my hand and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Otago at Dunedin, in the said Province, this twenty-second day of December, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-one.

LABOR MARKET.
NOTICE to Employers of Labor and Persons who wish to obtain Employment.—A Register is kept at each of the Police Stations in the Province, in which employers of labor are requested to enter their names when wanting to engage servants, giving particulars as to the class they wish to employ, the period for which they wish to engage them, and the rate of wages they propose to pay.
The members of the Police force in charge of the Stations have been instructed to afford every possible information on the subject to men wishing to obtain employment, etc.
IMMIGRATION.—Regulations for the introduction of Immigrants into the Province of Otago, on the nomination of persons resident therein.—Persons residing within the Province may obtain orders for Passages from the United Kingdom to Otago, for their friends or relatives, on payment of £5 per statute adult; children over one year old, £2 10s; and under one year, free. Such payment to be made, accompanied by a written application in the following form, to the Provincial Treasurer, Dunedin; the Receivers of Land Revenue at Invercargill, and of Gold Revenue at Oamaru, Arrowtown, Cromwell, Clyde, Alexandra, Naseby, St. Bathans, Roxburgh, Lawrence, Switzers, Hyde, Macraes; and the Collector of Customs at Oamaru, who will forward the applications from time to time to the Provincial Immigration Office at Dunedin.
Forms of application may be obtained from each of the above officers.
