NOTICE
Of certain Lands in the Province of Otago having been reserved as an Endowment for an Athenæum at Riverton.
By His Honor James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.
WHEREAS the Provincial Council of Otago have under and by virtue of Section 62 of the "Southland Waste Lands Act 1865," recommended that the lands hereinafter described should be reserved for an endowment for an Athenæum at Riverton; and it is expedient that the said lands should be so reserved for that purpose: Now therefore I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me in this behalf, do hereby publish and declare that I have made and dedicated the lands hereinafter described a reserve for an endowment for an Athenæum at Riverton: (that is to say)—
Sections Nos. 44, 45, 46, 55, 56, 63, block VI, Jacob's River Hundred, forming a total of 613a Or 10p.
Dated at Dunedin this seventh day of August, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-one.

NOTICE

By His Honor James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.
WHEREAS the Provincial Council of Otago have under and by virtue of Section 62 of the "Otago Waste Lands Act, 1866," recommended that the lands hereinafter described should be reserved for Educational purposes; and it is expedient that the said lands should be so reserved for that purpose: Now therefore I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me in this behalf, do hereby publish and declare that I have made and dedicated the lands hereinafter described a reserve for Educational purposes: (that is to say)—
All that area in the Province of Otago, being part of section 15, block XIII, Invercargill Hundred, containing nine (9) acres; bounded on the north by a public road, on the east by section 2 of block XV, on the south by Education Reserve No. 7, and on the west by the Main North road.

PROCLAMATION
Applying to the Hospital in the Town of Oamaru, in the Province of Otago, the provisions of the "Hospitals' Ordinance, 1862."
WHEREAS it is expedient that the provisions of the "Hospitals' Ordinance, 1862," should be applied to the Hospital in the Town of Oamaru, in the Province of Otago:
Now therefore I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, with the advice and consent of my Executive Council, and by virtue of the powers vested in me by the aforesaid Ordinance, do hereby declare that the aforesaid Ordinance shall, from and after the publication thereof, be deemed and taken to apply to the Hospital aforesaid.
Given under my hand and issued under the Public Seal of the said Province, this twenty-seventh day of November, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-one.

OAMARU HOSPITAL.
MEETING OF CONTRIBUTORS.
IN pursuance of the "Hospitals' Ordinance, 1862," the first Public Meeting of the Contributors to the Hospital situate in the Town of Oamaru, in the Province of Otago, for the purpose of electing the Committee of Management and other officers, and transacting any other business of the said Institution, will be held in the Volunteer Hall, in the said township of Oamaru, upon Wednesday, the thirteenth day of December, 1871, at twelve o'clock noon.

By Section 8 of the said Ordinance, it is enacted that the "Committee and other Officers of such institutions respectively, shall be elected by the majority of Contributors, either of the annual sum of one pound at the least, or of ten pounds in one sum to the said institutions respectively, who may be present at the respective meetings, to be called for the purpose of any such elections as hereinafter provided."
PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
IN Conformity to the 29th Section of the "Gold Fields Act 1866," and to the Regulations made under that Act and the "Gold Fields Acts Amendment Acts 1867, 1868, and 1869," for the granting of leases for gold mining purposes within the Province of Otago, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease for gold mining purposes of Crown Lands to the applicant specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against granting such lease.
Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing, and lodged with the Warden, at St. Bathans, on or before the 1st day of December, 1871.
Copy of the application made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden's Office at St. Bathans.

Scandinavian Water Race Company Registered, for six acres of land situated on the Terrace between Smoker's and Yorky Gully, St. Bathans.
