PURAKANUI ROAD BOARD hereby notify their intention to apply to the General Road Board at its December sitting, for authority to levy a Highway Rate of 6d per acre throughout the district for the current year. Also that the rate roll can be inspected at the house of the undersigned for 14 days from this date, Sundays excepted.—JOSEPH MAWSON, clerk, Purakanui, November 10th, 1871.
TOMAHAWK ROAD DISTRICT. — Notice to Ratepayers in the above-named district.—Unless all rates be paid on or before the first day of December, 1871, legal proceedings will be taken for recovery of same—without further notice. By order of the Board, THOMAS HARRISON, Clerk and Collector to Tomahawk Local Road Board. November 14, 1871.
IMPOUNDED on the 10th November, 1871, by Charles Grant, farmer, West Taieri, one chestnut colored horse, branded like diamond or a blotch near shoulder, owner unknown, for trespassing on Granton Farm, West Taieri, for which no damages are claimed, and in default of being released, the above horse will be sold at the public pound at West Taieri, on Friday, the 1st December, 1871, at 12 o’clock noon.—MICHAEL TYNAN, poundkeeper of the West Taieri pound.
IMPOUNDED on the 10th November, 1871, by Mr McAuley, Awamoko, one red and white Poley steer, S near rump, like 5’ near shoulder, owner unknown, for trespassing on Mr McAuley’s farm, for which no damages are claimed, and in default of being released, the above steer will be sold at the public pound at Papakaio, on the 1st December, 1871, at 12 o’clock noon.—JAMES DALGLIESH, poundkeeper of the Papakaio pound.
IMPOUNDED on the 3rd day of November, 1871, by Constable Erridge, of Port Chalmers, one bay Mare, no visible brand, having a scar on the off thigh and a rope round the neck, owner unknown, for trespassing on the streets of Port Chalmers, for which one shilling is charged for driving to the Pound; and in default of being released, the above Mare will be sold at the Public Pound at Port Chalmers on Friday, the first day of December, 1871, at 12 o’clock noon.—GEORGE STITTBLES, Poundkeeper of the Port Chalmers Pound.
IMPOUNDED on the 9th day of November, 1871, by the police, 1 red Poley Cow, branded R N off rump; 1 red and white Cow, NK (conjoined) off rump; 1 Calf, branded A S near rump; 1 strawberry Steer, branded X off rump, H off shoulder, and earmarked unknown, for trespassing on road line, for which two shillings per head is claimed; and in default of being released, the above cattle will be sold at the Public Pound at Inch Clutha on Friday, the 1st day of Dec, 1871, at 12 o’clock noon.—F. DAMSTHORPE ROAD BOARD hereby notify that they have applied to the General Road Board for authority to levy a highway rate for the year 1871-72, of one shilling in the £ on the annual value of all property in the district. The Assessment Roll lies for inspection at my house—JAMES ADAM, Clerk, Nov. 1, 1871.
HARLINGTON ROAD DISTRICT.—Notice is hereby given that the Local Board of the above District will apply to the General Road Board, at the December meeting, for authority to levy a general rate of sixpence per acre over the whole district, also for authority to levy a special rate of sixpence per acre over a portion of the district. The Assessment Rolls for the general and special rates can be seen at the house of the undersigned for fourteen days after this date.—JOSEPH MORRIS, Clerk to Local Board. BROAD BAY ROAD BOARD.—The Precept having been issued, authorising the collection of the Broad Bay Highway Rate of 6d per acre, Ratepayers are requested to pay their respective rates to me, at my house, on or before the 9th of December, 1871.—ROBERT RAYNBIRD, clerk and collector, Broad Bay.
EAST TAIERI ROAD BOARD.—Notice is hereby given of the intention of the East Taieri Road Board, to apply to the General Road Board at its meeting in December, for authority to levy a Highway Rate of 6d in the pound on the annual value of all lands, houses, &c. for the year ending June, 1872.
MERTON ROAD BOARD.—All unpaid Road Rates will be sued for after the 1st of December, 1871, without further notice. For the convenience of Ratepayers, I will be at the Merton Schoolhouse on Friday, 17th, and Saturday, 18th of November, between the hours of 6 and 8 o’clock, p.m.—ROBERT ALLAN, collector, Merton, November 1st, 1871.
HERBERT ROAD BOARD.—Ratepayers in this district are hereby informed that the General Road Board has sanctioned the levying of a Highway Rate of one shilling in the pound of annual value, and made the same payable at the house of the undersigned, on or before the last day of November, current—ALEXANDER PIRIE, collector, Otepopo, November 1st, 1871.
CHALFONT ROAD BOARD.—The Precept authorising the collection of the Highway Rate in the above named district, for the year 1871-72, having been issued by the General Road Board, Ratepayers are requested to pay the amount of their respective rates to me, at my house, Bellgrove, on or before the 1st day of December, 1871.—ALEXANDER YOUNG, clerk and collector.
ABBOTSFORD LOCAL ROAD BOARD hereby notify their intention to apply at the General Road Board, at its first sitting in December, for power to levy a rate of 4d per acre in the above district, for 1871-72. The rate roll can be inspected from this date till the 24th ultimo, Sundays excepted, at my house, Kaikorai mills, Green Island.—By order JAMES RUNCIMAN, clerk to local Board.
ROSLYN ROAD BOARD.—The precept for the year 1871-72, having been issued by the General Road Board, authorising the collection of a Highway Rate of sixpence in the pound. I hereby notify that all Rates are to be paid to me at my residence, Roslyn, on or before November 27th, 1871.—WM. YOUNG SPIERS, Collector.
STONY CREEK ROAD DISTRICT.—The precept for the collection of Highway Rate for 1871-72 having been issued, Ratepayers are requested to pay the amount of their respective Rates to me, at my house, on or before the 10th day of November, 1871.—HENRY S. McCOLL, Clerk and Collector, Hillend, Stony Creek.
