PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
IN conformity to the 29th Section of the "Gold Fields Act 1866," and to the Regulations made under that Act and the Gold Fields Acts Amendment Acts of 1867, 1868, and 1869, for the granting of leases for gold mining purposes within the Province of Otago, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease for gold mining purposes of Crown Lands to the applicant specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against granting such lease.
Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing and lodged with the Warden at Lawrence, on or before the 15th day of November, 1871.
Copy of the application made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden’s Office at Lawrence.
Given under my hand, at Dunedin, this 30th day of October, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-one.

SCHEDULE.
John Gibson Smith on behalf of Smith’s company, for a piece of land 400 yards by 200 yards, situate in Table Hill district, on the opposite side of the road which forms the western boundary of section 1, block V, and running due west towards the new Ocean View Claim.
Joseph Higgins on behalf of the New Ocean View Company, for 10 acres of land situate at Table Hill, and being section 16, block V, in said district.
PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

WHEREAS I have received sufficient proof that the portion of the Otago Gold Field described in the Schedule hereto is for the whole or the greater part of an inferior character as regards the value of its gold deposits: Now, therefore, I hereby give notice that the same may be occupied by holders of miners' rights in claims of the undermentioned size, viz.:
