NOTICE.

Given in conformity with Section 1 of Regulation IV. of the Regulations of the Otago Gold Field.

WHEREAS I have received sufficient proof that the portion of the Otago Gold Field described in the schedule hereto, has been fairly tested, and is for the greater part of an inferior character as regards the value of its gold deposits: Now, therefore, I hereby give notice that the same may be occupied by holders of Miners’ Rights in claims of the undermentioned size:—One (1) acre for each holder of a Miner’s Right; provided that no block claim shall comprise more than six (6) acres altogether.

Given under my hand at St. Bathans on this eighth day of September, 1871.

SCHEDULE.

All that portion of the Otago Gold Field comprised within the following boundaries, that is to say:—Commencing at the crossing place at the Ida Burn on the road from the Woolshed diggings to German Hill; thence in a direct line by Trig. Station F on the highest part of Blackstone Hill to the river Manuherikia; thence by the said river to its junction with McDevitt’s Gully; thence in a direct line to the head of Wade’s water race on the north branch of Hills Creek; thence by the said branch and by Hills Creek and the Ida Burn to the starting point.


ABSTRACT FROM PREVIOUS GAZETTES

of Impounding Notices:

6th October, Friday noon, a Mare and Gelding will be sold at Otepopo Pound.

6th October, Friday noon, four Heifers will be sold at Blueskin Pound.

6th October, Friday noon, a Steer and a Heifer will be sold at Hawksbury Pound.

13th October, Friday, noon, a cow and a calf will be sold at Hawksbury pound.


TENDERS wanted by the North-east Harbor Road Board:

1st. For widening certain parts of Road No. 1, and for making deviations on the same. 2nd. For clearing off slips, and for metalling six chains, more or less, of the Beach road near the jetty. Messrs. Christie, Edwards, and Roger to show the works, at Mr. Roger’s house, on Saturday, the 7th October, at one o’clock. PINE HILL ROAD BOARD invite Tenders to

WANTED a qualified female teacher for the Clyde district school. Salary £100 per annum. Applications with testimonials to be sent in by Thursday, 2nd November, to J. Christophers, Clerk.
