PUBLICANS’ LICENSES.—The Quarterly Meetings will be held on Tuesday, the 5th day of September, 1871, in the Courts of the Resident Magistrates within the Province of Otago, for the purpose of considering applications for General, General Night, Bottle, and Wholesale Licenses, &c.

ABSTRACT FROM PREVIOUS GAZETTES of Impounding Notices:—1st September, Friday noon, a horse will be sold at West Taieri Pound.

8th September, Friday noon, three cows, two calves, and a heifer will be sold at Clyde Pound.

MOSGIEL ROAD DISTRICT.—Tenders will be received by the Undersigned until noon of Friday, the 15th September, for Construction of a timber Bridge over Mill Creek; also, a timber Culvert. Specifications may be seen at the house of Mr. A. Armit Mosgiel, who will show the works. The Board does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender. JOHN ANDREWS, Clerk to the Board. SCHOOLMASTER Wanted for Government Side School at Macrae’s. Salary £75 per annum with Fees and a small Residence. Applications, with testimonials, to be lodged on or before September 15th with R. DONALDSON, Clerk to the School Committee, Macrae’s.

WANTED, a Teacher for the Side School, Taieri Ferry. Salary: £75 per annum and the usual proportion of school fees. Applications with testimonials to be lodged with the undersigned on or before the 8th September, 1871. AMOS MCKEGG, Clerk School Committee, Taieri Ferry.

WANTED, a Schoolmistress for the North Taieri School. Salary: £75 per annum. Applications with testimonials to be lodged with the undersigned on or before the 8th September next. WILLIAM THOMSON, Clerk School Committee, Post Office, North Taieri.

WANTED, a Properly Qualified Teacher for the Main School at Riverton. Salary: Government Grant and the usual proportion of school fees. The probable number of children attending school will be from 60 to 80. A free residence (with about an acre of land fenced in) is attached to the house. WASTE LAND BOARD ADVERTISEMENTS.

SETTLERS desirous of Depasturing Cattle on the Wairuna and Crookston Hundreds are requested to make the required return and take out Depasturing Licenses. Forms and every information may be had of the Ranger at Balclutha, and at the Land office.

APPLICATIONS will be received until noon of Monday, 4th September, from Authorised Surveyors, willing to undertake the execution of all Government Surveys according to the "Regulations for Surveyors within the Districts the guidance of District of Dunedin North, Dunedin South, Balclutha, Oamaru, Waitaki, Waiau, Te Anau. Maps, shewing the boundaries, may be seen at this office, and at the Survey Office, Invercargill."

LAND OPEN FOR SALE on 22nd February, 1871.—See Gazette of 23rd February, 1871, which may be had at the various Survey and Police Stations throughout the Province; and at the Land Offices, Dunedin and Invercargill.

4TH SEPTEMBER.—MONDAY NOON.

NOTICE is hereby given, that Section 56, Block I, Otokia District, containing 4 acres, 1 rood, and 25 poles, will be offered for sale by public auction at the Land Office, Dunedin, on Monday, the 4th day of September next, at noon, at the upset price of £1 10s. per acre. Immediately thereafter, Sections 2 of 20, 42 and 43, Block I, Otokia District, will be offered at the upset price of 10s. per acre.

NOTICE TO RUNHOLDERS.—The Lessees and Licensees of Runs within the recently declared Land District of Invercargill, will please to forward to the District Land Office, Invercargill, the Return of Stock ordered by the Waste Land Act to be made during September, and to pay the Assessment due thereon to the Receiver of Land Revenue there, on 1st October next.

NOTICE.

CROWN GRANTS for the Land, and in favor of the persons after-mentioned, are now ready for delivery; and attention is directed to the following clauses of the "Crown Grants Act 1866."

Clause XXXIX.—There shall be paid upon all Grants to be hereafter issued, which may be left in the charge or custody of any Commissioner of Crown Lands, or other officer charged with the delivery of the same, a fee of sixpence for every month during which they shall be so left after the expiration of three months from the date of the notice in the Gazette of the Province wherein the lands are situate, that such Grants are ready for delivery.

Clause XL.—There shall be paid upon all Grants
