SYDNEY.—The Local Board hereby notifies its intention to apply to the General Board, at the September sitting, for authority to levy a Highway Rate of Sixpence per Acre. It is also notified that the amended Assessment Roll may be inspected by ratepayers at the house of the undersigned, for fourteen days from date hereof.—Alex. Pirie, Clerk. Otepopo, August 9, 1871.


THE Highcliffe Local Road Board hereby notify their intention to apply at the next sitting of the General Road Board (in September) for authority to levy a Rate of One Shilling per Acre in the above district, for the year ending June, 1872. The revised Assessment Roll will be open for inspection at Schoolhouse, Highcliffe, until the 26th inst.—William Hay, Clerk to Local Road Board. 4th August, 1871.


SANDYMOUNT ROAD DISTRICT.—The Local Road Board hereby notify their intention of applying at the next sitting of the General Road Board on the first Thursday of September, 1871, for authority to levy a Highway Rate of One Shilling in the Pound for the current year. The Assessment Roll may be inspected by ratepayers at the house of Mr. Peter Carmichael, for fourteen days from the 16th inst.—George Bowes, Clerk, Sandymount Road Board. Sandymount, August 4, 1871.


NOTICE.—Tomahawk Local Road Board hereby intimate their intention of applying at the first meeting of the General Road Board, to be held in September, for authority to levy a Highway Rate of One Shilling per Acre in the above district, for the year 1871-72. The Assessment Roll is open for inspection at my house, Tomahawk, for fourteen days from date—Sundays excepted.—Thomas Hareson, Clerk and Collector to the Local Road Board. August, 1871.


OTARA.—The Local Board hereby notifies its intention to apply to the General Board for authority to levy a Highway rate for the current year on all lands and property in the district. The amended Assessment Roll may be inspected at the office of the N.Z.M.P. Works, Kakanui Mouth, for fourteen days from the date hereof.—John Handy, August 16th, 1871.


INCHOLME.—The Local Board hereby notifies its intention to apply to the General Board for authority to levy a Highway Rate for the current year on all lands and property in the district. The Assessment Roll may be inspected by all persons interested therein at the residence of James R. Elder, Esq., Oaklands, Incholme, for fourteen days from the date hereof.—John Hardy, Clerk. August 16th, 1871.


PINE HILL ROAD DISTRICT.—Notice is hereby given that a Precept has been issued for an Acreage Rate of One Shilling per acre, and the same is payable on or before 11th September, 1871.—Henry Duncan, Clerk and Collector. August 8th, 1871.


NORTH-EAST VALLEY ROAD DISTRICT.—Notice is hereby given that a Precept authorising the collection of the Highway Rate in the above-named district having been issued by the General Road Board, ratepayers are requested to pay the amount of their respective rates to me, at my house, on or before the 11th day of September, 1871.—Henry Duncan, Clerk and Collector.—North-East Valley, August 8th, 1871.


THE WAREPA ROAD BOARD hereby notify their intention of making application to the General Road Board at the next sitting, for authority to levy a Highway Rate of three-pence per acre on all rateable lands within the district, for year June, 1871-2.—T. H. Meeking, Clerk, Local Board. August 5, 1871.


ROSLYN ROAD BOARD.—Notice is hereby given, that the Roslyn Road Board intends to apply to the General Road Board on the first Thursday of September, 1871, for authority to levy a Highway Rate of Sixpence in the Pound on the annual value of all lands, buildings, &c., in the said district. The Assessment Roll is ready, and may be inspected for 14 days after the 11th inst., at Mr. Davidson’s Store, Roslyn.—H. P. Maclean, Clerk, Roslyn Road Board. Kaikorai, August 8, 1871.


LAMBOURNE.—The Local Board hereby notifies its intention to apply to the General Board for authority to levy a highway rate for the current year on all lands and property in the district. The assessment roll may be inspected at the Kakanui Hotel, Lambourne, for fourteen days from the date hereof.—John Hardy, Clerk to the Board. August 16, 1871.


NOTICE.—Merton Local Road Board hereby notify their intention of applying at the next sitting of the General Road Board, on the first Thursday of September, 1871, for authority to levy a highway rate of three-pence per acre on all the rateable property of the district for the year ending June, 1872. The assessment roll is now ready, and may be inspected for fourteen days from date at my house (Sundays excepted).—Robert Allan, Clerk. Merton, August 15, 1871.


PLAINSTAFF ROAD BOARD.—NOTICE.—The Rate Roll of the above District lies for inspection at the house of Mr. Hewitt, within the above-named district, for twenty-one days from this date.—D. McQuillan, Clerk to Local Board.—August 9th, 1871.


THE NORTH-EAST HARBOR ROAD BOARD have made the following appointments for the current year:—Mr. David Telfer, Treasurer; Mr. Robert Raynbird, Collector; Messrs. Christie and Stuart, Inspectors of Works; and Messrs. Robert Landreth, and James Beattie of Highcliffs District, Commissioners.—George P. Bell, Clerk to the Board. North-east Harbor, August 14, 1871.


SOUTHBRIDGE ROAD BOARD.—Notice is hereby given that the Southbridge Road Board intend applying, at the first meeting of the General Road Board, to be held in September, for authority to levy a Highway Rate of One Shilling in the pound on the annual value of all lands and buildings in the said district. The assessment roll may be inspected for fourteen days after the 21st, at my house, South Tokomairiro.—John Fleming, Clerk, Southbridge Road Board.


WAIWERA ROAD BOARD.—Notice is hereby given of the intention of Waiwera Road Board to apply to the General Road Board, at its meeting in September, to levy a Highway Rate of one Shilling in the Pound, on annual value of all lands and houses, for year ending June 23rd, 1872. The Assessment Roll can be inspected at the house of Mr. T. Blacklock, for fourteen days after the 17th August, 1871.—Matthew Peterson, Clerk, Waiwera Road Board.


THE NORTH TAIERI LOCAL ROAD BOARD hereby notify their intention to apply at the next sitting of the General Road Board, in September, for authority to levy a Rate of One Shilling in the pound.
