NOTICE is hereby given, that William Evans and Co. have applied to be allowed to withdraw their application for a Mining Lease of 16 acres of land at Bald Hill, on the Tuapeka Creek, in block XVIII,
Tuapeka East, which has been sanctioned, and the land is open for occupation by holders of Miners’ Rights.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the Partnership lately existing between us, the undersigned,
David Bacon and Henrich Wilhelm Elias Meyer, as
Coal Merchants, Livery Stable Keepers, and Express
Proprietors, at Dunedin, under the style or firm of Bacon and Meyer, was on the eighth day of August instant, dissolved by mutual consent.
All debts due and owing to or by the late firm will be received and paid by the said David Bacon.

ABSTRACT FROM PREVIOUS GAZETTES

Impounding Notices:—
1st September, Friday noon, a horse will be sold at West Taieri Pound.

TENDERS will be received at this Office, until noon of Friday, the 1st September next, for the performance of the Steam Tug Service in the Port of Dunedin, for Twelve Months, by a suitable Steamer of not less than (70) seventy horse power. The Master of the Tug must be qualified to act, and be licensed by the Government as a Pilot for the aforementioned Port.

CLERK AND COLLECTOR WANTED.—The Local Board of Blueskin Road District invite tenders for the above appointment for the current year, ending June 30, 1872. Offers to be addressed to the Chairman of the Board, Mr. James Green, M.P.C., Blueskin, on or before 31st instant. Applicants must be prepared to give satisfactory security. The Board do not bind themselves to accept any tender, or the lowest. 4th August, 1871.

TENDERS WANTED.—Surface Man for the North Taieri Local Road Board, at per week. Tenders to be lodged with Robert Pearson, Clerk, on or before Sept. 1st, 1871.

SCHOOLMASTER Wanted for Government Side School at Macrae’s. Salary £75 per annum with Fees and a small Residence. Applications, with testimonials, to be lodged on or before September 15th with R. Donaldson, Clerk to the School Committee, Macrae’s.

WASTE LAND BOARD ADVERTISEMENTS.

SETTLERS desirous of Depasturing Cattle on the Wairuna and Crookston Hundreds are requested to make the required return and take out Depasturing Licenses.
Forms and every information may be had of the Ranger at Balclutha, and at the Land Office.

APPLICATIONS will be received until noon of Monday, 4th September, from Authorised Surveyors, willing to undertake the execution of all Government Surveys according to the “Regulations for the guidance of District Surveyors” within the Districts of Dunedin North, Dunedin South, Balclutha, Oamaru, Waitaki, Waiau, Te Anau.
Maps, showing the boundaries, may be seen at this Office, and at the Survey Office, Invercargill.

4TH SEPTEMBER.—MONDAY NOON.

NOTICE is hereby given, that Section 56, Block I, Otokia District, containing 4 acres 1 rood, and 25 poles, will be offered for sale by public auction at the Land Office, Dunedin, on Monday, the 4th day of September next, at noon, at the upset price of £1 10s. per acre. Immediately thereafter, Sections 2 of 20, 42 and 43, Block I, Otokia District, will be offered at the upset price of 10s. per acre.

NOTICE TO RUNHOLDERS.—The Lessees and Licensees of Runs within the recently declared Land District of Invercargill, will please to forward to the District Land Office, Invercargill, the Return of Stock ordered by the Waste Land Act to be made during September, and to pay the Assessment due thereon to the Receiver of Land Revenue there, on 1st October next.
