NOTICE is hereby given, that John Tanton, having applied to be allowed to withdraw his application for a Mining Lease of ten acres of land, being section 41, block X, Waitahuna East, the Government have sanctioned the same, and the land is now open for occupation by holders of Miners’ Rights.

4th August, Friday noon, two Cows, one Bull Calf, one Heifer, and three Geldings will be sold at Clyde Pound.

4th August, Friday noon, a bay Cob will be sold at South Dunedin Pound.

11th August, Friday noon, a Gelding will be sold at Clyde Pound.

TENDERS will be received at this Office, until noon of Friday, the 1st September next, for the performance of the Steam Tug Service in the Port of Dunedin, for Twelve Months, by a suitable Steamer of not less than (70) seventy horse power. The Master of the Tug must be qualified to act, and be licensed by the Government as a Pilot for the aforementioned Port.

TO CONTRACTORS.

THE Oteramika Road Board invite Tenders for the Formation of a Road from the Half-way Bush to near Edendale station, a distance of about seven miles. The work is divided into three contracts, to suit small contractors.

Plans and specifications lie with Mr. Stewart, Clerk to the Board, at Edendale station, who will receive sealed tenders up till 20th August.

The Board do not bind themselves to accept the lowest or any tender.

WASTE LAND BOARD ADVERTISEMENTS.

NOTICE TO APPLICANTS for UNSURVEYED LAND, under “Otago Waste Land Act, 1866.”

It is hereby notified to the applicant whose name appears in the subjoined Schedule, that the Waste Land Board has declared him to be the purchaser of the section set opposite his name in the Schedule; and that the purchase money of this section must be paid to the Receiver of Land Revenue in Invercargill, on or before Wednesday, the 16th day of August, 1871; otherwise the application will be deemed withdrawn, cancelled, and void, and the deposit made at the time of lodging the application will be forfeited.

14th AUGUST.—MONDAY.

NOTICE is hereby given, that Section 29, Block II, Maungatua District, containing 63a 0r 36p., will be offered for sale by public auction, at the auction Rooms of R. W. Capstick, Tokomairiro, on Monday, the 14th day of August, 1871, (immediately after the Town Land Sale there on that date), at the upset price of 21s per acre.

Section 33, Block VI, Otago Peninsula District, formerly advertised to be sold by auction, on July 28th, is withdrawn from sale.

14th AUGUST.—MONDAY NOON.

MR. JAMES MILNER has been instructed by the Provincial Government to offer for sale by public auction, at the Land Office, Dunedin, on the above date, Sections 22, and 1 of 41, Block II, Dunedin and East Taieri District.

15th AUGUST.—TUESDAY NOON.

5,700 ACRES—78 ALLOTMENTS.—Mr JAS. MILNER has been instructed by the Provincial Government to offer for sale by public auction, in the Land Office, Dunedin, on the above date, 78 Allotments in the Hundred of STRATH TAVERI, at the upset price of £1 per acre; those with improvements effected thereon with valuations, as stated in the Provincial Government Gazette.

16th AUGUST.—WEDNESDAY.

2,996 ACRES.—Notice is hereby given, that all the above area, being Sections numbered 1 to 49 inclusive, surveyed into lots of from 300 to 50 acres each, will be offered for sale by public auction, by Mr J. C.
