as Crown Lands of the same class not within a Gold Field and it shall not be necessary to withdraw lands from the operation of the said Act for the purposes aforesaid: And whereas all Depasturing Licences heretofore existing over the Crown Lands described in the said Schedule hereto have been cancelled: And whereas the Executive Government of the Province of Otago have determined to open up for sale the said lands described in the Schedule hereto in sections of the size and form in which the same have already been surveyed and as the same are laid off and delineated in the maps of the Chief Surveyor of the Province of Otago relative thereto: Now therefore His Honor James Macandrew Superintendent of the Province of Otago by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Province doth hereby by virtue and in exercise of the powers delegated to the Executive Government of the said Province in this behalf by His Excellency the Governor of New Zealand in Council under the authority of the “Gold Fields Act Amendment Act 1867” and of any and every other power in anywise enabling the said Executive Government in this behalf proclaim and declare that from and after the date hereof all the Crown Lands specified in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale in sections of the size and form in which such lands have already been surveyed and as the same are laid off and delineated on the map in the Office of the Chief Surveyor of the Province of Otago relative thereto.

SCHEDULE.

Description of Area on Run 175B.

All that area situate in the Province of Otago, containing by admeasurement ninety-two acres, more or less, being a part of Run 175B, applied for under application numbered 87c: bounded towards the north-east by the remaining part of the said Run, four thousand three hundred (4,300) links; towards the south-east by the remainder of said Run, two thousand one hundred and forty (2,140) links; towards the south-west by the remainder of said Run four thousand three hundred (4,300) links; and towards the north-west by the remainder of the said Run, two thousand one hundred and forty (2,140) links, as the same is delineated on the map of the said area deposited in the Provincial Survey Office, Dunedin.

Description of Area on Run 307.

All that area situate in the Province of Otago, containing by admeasurement one hundred and fifteen (115) acres, more or less, being part of Run 307, applied for under applications numbered respectively 6689, 6859, and 6860: bounded towards the north by the remainder of Run 307, three thousand one hundred eighty-seven and five-tenths (3187.5) links; towards the east by the remainder of the said Run, three thousand six hundred seven and eight-tenths (3607.8) links; towards the south by the remainder of the said Run, three thousand one hundred eighty-seven and five-tenths (3187.5) links; and towards the west by the remainder of the said Run, three thousand six hundred seven and eight-tenths (3607.8) links as the same is delineated on the map of the said area deposited in the Provincial Survey Office, Dunedin.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

In conformity to the 29th Section of the “Gold Fields Act 1866,” and to the Regulations made under that Act and the Gold Fields Acts Amendment Acts of 1867, 1868, and 1869, for the granting of leases for gold mining purposes within the Province of Otago, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease for gold mining purposes of Crown Lands to the applicant specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against granting such lease.

Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing, and lodged with the Warden, at Naseby on or before the 4th day of July.

Copy of the application made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden’s Office at Naseby.

Given under my hand, at Dunedin, this fifteenth day of May, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-one.

HIS HONOR THE SUPERINTENDENT directs it to be notified that pursuant to the provisions of Section VI of the “Licensing Ordinances Amendment Ordinance 1870” he has been pleased to appoint Mr. George Lumb as and to be an officer or person to enter any part of any house, store, and premises in or upon which the holder of any Bottle License shall be authorised to sell and dispose of fermented or spirituous liquors in bottles.
