CLAIMS FOR CATTLE IMPOUNDED

Red bullock, blotch brand like J off rump; one dark-brown Heifer, no brand, for trespassing on goldfields, for which ten shillings per head expenses is claimed; and in default of being released the above Cattle will be sold at the Public Pound at Lawrence on Friday, the twelfth day of May, 1871, at 12 o’clock noon.—Peter Robertson, Poundkeeper of the Lawrence Pound.

STOLEN OR STRAYED

From St. Bathans, a bay mare, white face, and white near hind foot, branded S near shoulder. The above Reward will be paid to any person delivering the same to Mr. Wm. M’Connochie, draper, St. Bathans, or to Mr. Gibson P. Gilmore.

MUNICIPALITY OF CROMWELL

I HEREBY GIVE NOTICE, in accordance with the provisions of Clauses 82, 83, and 86 of “The Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance 1865,” that the Assessment of Property within the Municipality of Cromwell for the current Year has been allowed by the Council as a fair and just assessment:

And I further give notice that the same is deposited and may be daily inspected at my office by any person interested therein between the hours of 9 A.M. and 12 noon, and from 1 P.M. and till 5 P.M.

In accordance with Section 85 of “The Municipal Corporations Ordinance 1865,” any person may within ten days after the publication of this notice appeal to the District Court at Clyde against the assessment. Notice of appeal must be lodged with me, and a copy of the same delivered by the appellant to the Clerk to the District Court, six clear days previous to the day of hearing.

THE Partnership heretofore existing between the undersigned James Brugh and Matthew Robertson Miller, under the firm of Barata Flax Company, Port Molyneux, have ceased, by mutual consent, to carry on business from this date as flax-dressers. All accounts due to the said firm are to be paid to the said James Brugh, by whom all accounts owing by the said firm will be paid; and all claims against said firm must be sent in on or before 30th instant.
