SCHOOLMASTER WANTED for Highcliff and Tomahawk School, near Dunedin. Salary, £75, with School Fees and Residence. Applications, with testimonials, to be lodged at Education Office, till 1st November.

HIGHCLIFF LOCAL ROAD BOARD.—Ratepayers are requested to pay the amount of their respective rates to Mr. David Auld, Collector, at his house, on or before the 21st day of October, 1870.—THOMAS GRAINGER, Chairman. Highcliff, 19th September, 1870.

GREEN ISLAND ROAD DISTRICT.—Ratepayers are requested to pay the amount of their respective rates to me at my house, on or before the thirty-first day of October, 1870.—JAMES DONALD, Collector. Green Island, October 1, 1870.

GOODWOOD ROAD DISTRICT.—Notice is hereby given, that the above-named Road Board intend to apply to the General Road Board for authority to levy a Highway Rate in November, 1870, of Sixpence (6d) per acre.

BLUE MOUNTAIN ROAD DISTRICT.—Notice is hereby given that the above-named Road Board intend to apply to the General Road Board for authority to levy a Highway Rate in November, 1870, of Sixpence in the £ on all lands and houses in the district.

HARLINGTON LOCAL ROAD BOARD.—Notice is hereby given that the Local Board of the above District intends to apply to the General Road Board at its next meeting for authority to levy a General Rate of Ninepence per acre on all rateable property in the district.

NOTICE.—The Local Board of Mosgiel hereby notify their intention to apply to the General Road Board, at its next meeting, for leave to levy a Highway Rate of One Shilling in the Pound within the said district on all lands, buildings, &c.

WANGALOA ROAD BOARD.—Notice is hereby given, that application will be made to the General Road Board, at its next sitting, for authority to levy a Highway Rate of Three (3) Pence per acre on all lands liable to be rated in the district.

ANDERSON’S BAY ROAD BOARD.—Notice is hereby given, that application is to be made to the General Road Board, at its next monthly meeting, to levy a Highway Rate of Fourpence in the Pound on an assessment of the annual value of all lands, houses, mills, buildings, and hereditaments within such district.

FLAGSTAFF ROAD BOARD.—The Ratepayers are requested to pay their respective rates to me, at my house, within a month of this date.—D. M’QUILKAN, Collector to Flagstaff Road Board. 17th October, 1870.

FALLDAY ROAD DISTRICT.—The Precept authorising the collection of a Highway Rate of Fourpence per acre in the above district having been granted by the General Board, ratepayers are hereby requested to pay their respective sums to me, at my house, on or before the 12th day of November next.—ALEX. PIRIE, Collector. Otepepo, 14th October, 1870.

HERBERT ROAD DISTRICT.—The Precept authorising the collection of a Highway Rate of One Shilling per Pound of annual value in the Herbert District having been granted by the General Board, ratepayers are hereby requested to pay the amount of their respective rates to me, at my house, on or before the 12th day of November next.—ALEX. PIRIE, Collector. Otepepo, October 14, 1870.

ROSLYN ROAD BOARD.—Notice is hereby given, that a precept authorising the collection of the Highway Rate for the year 1870-71 having been issued, ratepayers are requested to pay the amount of their respective rates to me, at my house, Sunnyside, on or before the 10th day of November, 1870.—WILLIAM ELLISON, Collector. October 11, 1870.

IMPOUNDED on the 8th day of October, 1870, by Kitchen, Esq., Moa Flat Station: one Red and White Cow, like H C near rump, and like three legs of man near back, slit in both ears, calf at foot; Red Cow, quarter out of lower part of off ear, branded like S L near rump; owners unknown; for trespassing on Moa Flat Station, for which 10s. each damages are claimed; and in default of being released, the above Cattle will be sold at the Public Pound at Tapanui, on Friday, the 4th day of November, 1870, at 12 o’clock noon.—A. MACGREGOR, Poundkeeper of the Glenkenich Pound.

IMPOUNDED on the 10th day of October, 1870, by Andrew Mathews, for Mr. Lloyd, Green Island: one Yellow Poley Cow, white back, no visible brand; one Red Poley Cow, no visible brand; for trespassing on Mr. Lloyd’s park; for which no damage is claimed; and in default of being released, the above Cattle will be sold at the Public Pound at East Taieri, on Friday, the 4th day of November, 1870, at 12 o’clock noon.—JAMES PURVIS, Poundkeeper of the East Taieri Pound.

IMPOUNDED on the 14th day of October, 1870, by W. Apes for John Reid, Esq., Corner Bush: one Red Bullock, branded J C on off rib; one Red Bullock, white belly, branded W on near rump; one Brindle and White Bullock, indistinct brand on near rump; owners unknown; for trespassing on Corner Bush Farm; for which 5s. damages are claimed; and in default of being released, the above cattle will be sold at the Public Pound at Hawksbury, on Friday, the 4th day of November, 1870, at 12 o’clock noon.—ARCH. VALENTINE, Poundkeeper of the Hawksbury Pound.

IMPOUNDED on the 8th day of October, 1870, by Kitchen, Esq., Moa Flat Station: one Brindle Cow, branded like H I L off rump, like L C over heart near rump, C L off back; one Yellow Cow, white tail, like E D (conjoined) off rump, J P (conjoined) rump, blotched brand off back, Roan Calf at foot; one Red Steer, no visible brand; one Strawberry Cow, branded J P (conjoined) off rump, calf at foot, owners unknown; for trespassing on Moa Flat Station, for which Ten Shillings each damages, are claimed; and in default of being released, the above cattle will be sold at the Public Pound, at Tapanui, on Friday, the 4th day of November, 1870, at 12 o’clock noon.—A. THE North-East Harbor Road Board hereby give notice that a precept authorising the collection of the Highway Rates in the above-named district having been issued by the General Road Board for the year 1870-71; Ratepayers are requested to pay the amount of their respective rates to me, at my residence, Airlie Bank, on or before the 7th day of November next.—ROBERT CHRISTIE, Collector. 17th Oct., 1870.

A Meeting of the Blueskin Agricultural and Pastoral Association will be held at the Waitati Hotel on Monday, 24th October, at 7 o’clock, for the purpose of electing a President, and other business.
