PORTOBELLO ROAD BOARD.—Notice is hereby given, that a precept has been issued for an acreage tax of One Shilling per acre, in Hooper’s Inlet and Papanui Wards, and Sixpence per acre in Arthur Seat Ward; and the same is payable to me on or before 15th October:—Joseph Young, Clerk and Collector. Portobello, 23rd September, 1870.
NORTH-EAST HARBOR ROAD DISTRICT.—Parties within the N.E. Harbor District who have not yet paid road rates for the year 1869-70, are hereby notified that unless payment be made on or before the 14th October, legal proceedings will be adopted for the recovery of the same. Payment to be made to me, at my residence, Airlie Bank; or to the Clerk at the Schoolhouse.—Robert Christie, Collector. 26th September, 1870.
Licensing (Publicans’) Ordinance, price 1s. May be had of Provincial Government Storekeeper, Dunedin. The usual allowance to the Trade when twelve are taken. These are the prices in Dunedin. If mailed the postage must be paid by purchaser.

GREEN ISLAND ROAD DISTRICT.—Notice is hereby given, that a precept authorising the collection of the Highway Rate in the above-named District, having been issued by the General Road Board; Ratepayers are requested to pay the amount of their respective rates to me at my house, on or before the thirty-first day of October, 1870.—James Donald, Collector. Green Island, October 1, 1870.
GOODWOOD ROAD DISTRICT.—Notice is hereby given, that the above-named Road Board intend to apply to the General Road Board for authority to levy a Highway Rate in November, 1870, of Sixpence (6d) per acre. The Assessment Roll is now ready, and can be inspected for fourteen days from date at my house.—John Keen, Clerk and Collector. Palmerston, 7th October, 1870.
BLUE MOUNTAIN ROAD DISTRICT.—Notice is hereby given that the above-named Road Board intend to apply to the General Road Board for authority to levy a Highway Rate in November, 1870, of Sixpence in the £ on all lands and houses in the district. The Assessment Roll is now ready, and can be inspected for fourteen days from date at my house.—John Keen, Clerk and Collector. Palmerston, 7th October, 1870.
HARLINGTON LOCAL ROAD BOARD.—Notice is hereby given that the Local Board of the above District intends to apply to the General Road Board at its next meeting for authority to levy a General Rate of Ninepence per acre on all rateable property in the district. Also, that the Assessment Roll may be inspected at my house for fourteen days from this date.—Joseph Morris, Clerk to Local Board. Harlington, 5th October, 1870.

By Mounted-Constable Fitzpatrick: one dark or iron-grey horse, branded T J on off shoulder; owner unknown; for trespassing on public road at Hawksbury, for which no damages are claimed; and in default of being released, the above horse will be sold at the Public Pound at Hawksbury on the 21st day of October, 1870, at 12 o’clock noon.—Archd. Valentine, Poundkeeper of the Hawksbury Pound.

Jones, Esq., Goodwood: 1 dark-grey gelding, branded JH on near shoulder, star on forehead, and saddle-marked; 1 brown gelding, branded like ZX on near shoulder, and like W undersaddle; 1 bay filly, branded like C on near shoulder; owners unknown, for trespassing on Goodwood Paddocks, for which grey gelding 10s. and others 2s. 6d. each damages are claimed; and in default of being released, the above horses will be sold at the Public Pound.
