WINDSOR LOCAL ROAD BOARD.—Notice

is hereby given, that application will be made
to the General Road Board, at its next sitting, for
authority to levy a rate of One Shilling in the £ on
the annual value of all land in the said district.

The Assessment Roll (revised) lies at the residence
of Mr. Rainforth, Waireka Valley, for inspection,
between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., for fourteen

WAINERAKI LOCAL ROAD BOARD.—Notice is

hereby given, that application will be made to the
General Road Board, at its next sitting, for authority
to levy a rate of One Shilling in the £ on the annual
value of all land in the district.

The revised Assessment Roll lies for inspection in
my office, Oamaru, where it may be seen for fourteen
days from this date, between the hours of 10 a.m. and
4 p.m. Sundays and public holidays excepted.—C. G.

PORTOBELLO ROAD BOARD.—Notice is hereby

given, that a precept has been issued for an
acreage tax of One Shilling per acre, in Hooper’s Inlet
and Papanui Wards, and Sixpence per acre in Arthur
Seat Ward; and the same is payable to me on or
before 15th October.—JOSEPH YOUNG, Clerk and

NORTH-EAST HARBOUR ROAD DISTRICT

Parties within the N.E. Harbour District who
have not yet paid road rates for the year 1869-70, are
hereby notified that unless payment be made on or
before the 14th October, legal proceedings will be
adopted for the recovery of the same. Payment to be
made to me, at my residence, Airlie Bank; or to the
Clerk at the Schoolhouse.—ROBERT CHRISTIE,

MORNINGTON ROAD DISTRICT.—The precept

authorising the collection of the Highway
Rate of one Shilling in the Pound sterling of the
annual value in this district having been issued by the
General Road Board, ratepayers are respectfully
requested to pay the amount of their respective rates for
the current year to me, at my house, within thirty
days from the date hereof.—JOHN E. ATWOOD, Clerk

SIGNAL HILL ROAD DISTRICT.—The Board

hereby give notice that they purpose applying to
the General Road Board, at the October sitting, for
authority to levy a Highway Rate of Sixpence per
Acre. The Rate Roll is open for inspection by all rate-
payers at James Farquharson’s house, on and up to the

BEACONSFIELD ROAD DISTRICT.—The Local

Board hereby notify their intention of applying
at the sitting of the General Road Board, on the first
Thursday in October, 1870, for authority to levy a
Highway Rate of Fourpence per Acre on all lands
liable to be rated in the district.

The Assessment Roll for the above district may be
inspected by the ratepayers at the Kilmog Hotel, for
fourteen days from the date of this notice.—THOMAS

KURIMOTO ROAD BOARD.—Notice is hereby

given, that the precept authorising the collection
of the Highway Rate in the above-named District—
having been issued by the General Road Board—Rate-
payers are requested to pay the amount of their respec-
tive rates to Mr. James L. Lander, Kurimoto, on or
before the 12th day of October, 1870.—PETER LITCH,

IMPOUNDED

on the 19th day of September, 1870, by R. Nelmes, for Cranbourne Road Board, one
light bay mare, branded N on near shoulder, indistinct
brand or scar on near neck, near hind foot white, star
on forehead, and saddle marked; owner unknown; for
trespassing on Cranbourne District Roads, for which
ten shillings damages are claimed; and, in default of
being released, the above mare will be sold at the public
Pound at Hawksbury, on Friday, the fourteenth day of
October, 1870, at 12 o’clock noon.—ARCH. VALENTINE,

IMPOUNDED, on the 23rd day of September, 1870,
by James Smith, Esq., one Bay Horse, branded
H on near shoulder, old; one Colt, dark grey, no brand,
cut ear, for trespassing on his paddock, for which two
pounds damages is claimed; and, in default of being
released the above horses will be sold at the Public
Pound at Tokomairiro on Friday, the 14th day of
October, 1870, at 12 o’clock noon.

Four head of Cattle formerly advertised to be sold
on 23rd September will be sold on Friday, the 30th
September.

and East Taieri District, will be closed.

is hereby given, that the Partnership
between the undersigned Alexander Jerusalem
Smyth, John Howat, John Francis Herbert, Edward
Herbert, and Archibald M’Kinlay, in the trades or
businesses of Saw Mill Proprietors, Tallow Manu-
factors, and Fellmongers, and all other trades or busi-
nesses in which they may be concerned as co-partners
at Tapanui, in the Province of Otago, and elsewhere,
under the firm of “Herbert, Smyth and Co.,” was this
day dissolved by mutual consent, so far as concerns
the said Alexander Jerusalem Smyth; and in future the
business will be carried on by the said John Howat,
John Francis Herbert, Edward Herbert, and Archibald
M’Kinlay, under the name or style of “Herbert, Howat
and Co.,” and who will pay and receive all debts owing
from or to the said partnership in the regular course of
trade.
