Road Works and Land Grants




  1. Contracts Nos. 530, 531, 532, 533 and 534—Maintenance of portions of the road “Waikouaiti to Palmerston.”

Plans and Specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the Office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin, or at Police Station, Waikouaiti.

Tenders to be indorsed “Roads and Works Tender for Contract No. 527, 528, 529, 530, 531, 532, 533, or 534, as the case may be.”

Deposit required on total for maintenance portion of contract.

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Land and Works, until noon of Monday, 19th September, for Contract No. 57.—Survey of 2000 acres, Kawarau District, Run No. 345, into 50 acre sections.

Plan and Specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the Survey Office, Dunedin.

Tenders to be indorsed “Tender for Survey Contract No. 57,” and to be accompanied by the usual deposit.

The lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted.

CARTERS.—Bell Hill Works.—Tenders will be received at the Government Office, Dunedin, until noon of Tuesday, 20th September current, for Carting for six months, commencing 1st October, 1870.

Securities will require to sign a form, which may be obtained at the Gaol, and must be lodged with the tender for the due performance of the contract. Extent of security, £50 in all.

For further information apply at the Gaol, Dunedin.

TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Lands and Works, until noon of Tuesday, 20th September, for Contract No. 488, “Carting 740 cubic yards of Road Metal from Reserve at Water of Leith, Main Road through Dunedin.”

Plans and Specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the Office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin.

Tenders to be indorsed “Roads and Works, Tender for Contract No. 488.”

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

Waikouaiti District Road Board.—Tenders to form a Toll-Bar are invited by the above Board. Intending tenderers may apply for any information, by letter.

Hampden Road Works.—Tenders are invited for forming and metalling about eight chains of road in the above district. Contractors will be shown the works on Thursday, the 22nd instant, by meeting at Mr. Wright’s, Mount Pleasant, where tenders will also be received till Saturday, the 24th instant, at 4 p.m.

Specifications to be seen at the house of the undersigned. The lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted.—Joseph Morris, Clerk to Road Board.

WASTE LAND BOARD ADVERTISEMENTS.

NOTICE.

CROWN GRANTS for the Land, and in favor of the persons after-mentioned, are now ready for delivery; and attention is directed to the following clauses of the “Crown Grants Act 1866.”

Clause XXXIX.—There shall be paid upon all Grants to be hereafter issued, which may be left in the charge or custody of any Commissioner of Crown Lands, or other officer charged with the delivery of the same, a fee of sixpence for every month during which they shall be so left after the expiration of three months from the date of the notice in the Gazette of the Province wherein the lands are situate, that such Grants are ready for delivery.

Clause XL.—There shall be paid upon all Grants issued prior to the passing of this Act, and left as aforesaid in the custody of the officer charged with the delivery thereof, a fee of sixpence per month for every month during which they shall be so left after two months subsequent to the passing of this Act.
