NOTICE
Of certain Land at Green Island, in the Province of Otago, having been set apart for purposes of Public Recreation.
By His Honor William Alexander Tolmie, Deputy-Superintendent of the Province of Otago.
WHEREAS the Provincial Council of Otago have, under and by virtue of Section 62 of the "Otago Waste Lands Act 1866," recommended that the lands hereinafter described should be set apart for purposes of public recreation at Green Island; and it is expedient that the said lands should be so reserved for that purpose: Now therefore, I, William Alexander Tolmie, Deputy-Superintendent of the Province of Otago, in pursuance and in exercise of the power and authority vested in me in this behalf, do hereby publish and declare that I have made and dedicated the lands hereinafter described a Reserve for purposes of public recreation at Green Island (that is to say):-
All that area in the Province of Otago, containing by estimation three hundred and seventy-two (372) acres, three (3) roods, and four (4) poles, more or less, situate in Dunedin and East Taieri District, being Section numbered one (1), Block Fourteen (XIV) on the map of the said district: bounded towards the north by a road line two thousand and fifty (2050) links; by Green Island Bush District one thousand six hundred (1600) links, and six thousand and thirty (6030) links; by section numbered two (2) one thousand and eighty (1080) links, and three hundred and fifty (350) links; also by Green Island Bush District two thousand four hundred and forty (2440) links, two thousand (2000) links, and two thousand four hundred (2400) links; towards the south-east by a road line two thousand three hundred and thirty (2330) links; towards the south by the ocean thirteen thousand seven hundred (13,700) links; and towards the west by the Kaikorai Stream two thousand eight hundred (2800) links;—be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

THE GOVERNMENT
is prepared to receive offers from persons who may be willing to lay on Steamers to perform the following services on the Coast of this Province, in connection with the River Service of the Clutha, viz:—
1st. A steamer to leave Dunedin for Port Molyneux weekly, in connection with one on the Clutha, for Kaitangata, Clutha Ferry, Pomahaka, and Clydevale, or as much higher up the river as can be obtained, including a trip to Waikawa and Catlin’s River bi-monthly; or
2nd. To perform the same services, and, in addition, to proceed to the “Bluff” and Riverton if necessary.

SUFFICIENT PROOF having been shown to me that the portion of the Otago Gold Field described in the Schedule hereto has been fairly tested, and is for the greater of an inferior character as regards the value
