MOUNT ROYAL ROAD BOARD.—Notice is

hereby given, that the above-named Road Board
intend to apply to the General Road Board for authority
to levy a Highway Rate in October, 1870, of threepence
(3d.) per acre. And, the Assessment Roll is now ready
and can be inspected for fourteen days from date, at
my house.—John Kean, Clerk and Collector.
Palmerston, 30th July, 1870.


WAIWERA ROAD DISTRICT.—The Local Road

Board hereby notify their intention of applying
at the sitting of the General Road Board, to be held
on the first Thursday of September, 1870 for authority
to levy a Highway Rate of fourpence per acre. The
Assessment Roll is now ready, and can be inspected at
the Schoolhouse, Waiwera, for fourteen days from this

KAIHIKU ROAD BOARD.—The Local Road

Board hereby give notice that it is their intention to make application to the General Road Board,
on the first Thursday of September, 1870, for authority
to levy a Highway Rate of threepence per acre for the
current year. The revised Assessment Roll may be
seen at the Schoolhouse, for fourteen days after the

PORTOBELLO ROAD DISTRICT.—The Local

Road Board hereby notify their intention of
applying at the next sitting of the General Road Board,
on the first Thursday of September, 1870, for authority
to levy an acreage rate of one shilling per acre in
Hooper’s Inlet and Papanui Wards, and sixpence an acre
in Arthur’s Seat Ward. The Assessment Roll for the
above District is now ready, and may be inspected by
the Ratepayers at my house, Hooper’s Inlet, fourteen
days from the date of this notice.—Joseph Young,

HIGHCLIFF LOCAL ROAD BOARD.—The

Assessment Roll is lying for the inspection of all
whom it may concern, at the house of Mr. James
Beattie, for fourteen days from this date.
It is the intention of the Highcliff Local Board to
apply to the General Road Board, at its next meeting,
for leave to levy a rate of 1s. per acre.—Thos. Grainer,

NOTICE.—The Waiwera Local Board Road Trustees

hereby give notice to all whom it may concern that
unless the Road Rates in arrear be paid in on or before
1st prox., legal proceedings will be immediately instituted without any further notice whatever.—T. H.

INCH CLUTHA ROAD DISTRICT.—Notice is

hereby given, that the Local Board intend to
apply, at the next sitting of the General Road Board,
for authority to levy a Highway Rate of sixpence in the
£, annual value. The Assessment Roll for the above
District is now ready, and may be inspected by the

NORTH MOLYNEUX ROAD DISTRICT.—Notice is hereby

given, that the Local Board intend to apply, at the next sitting
of General Road Board, for authority to levy a Highway Rate of eightpence
in the £, annual value. The Assessment Roll for the
above District is now ready, and may be inspected by
the Ratepayers at Mr. M’Donald’s Store, Kaitangata,

BLUE MOUNTAIN ROAD BOARD.—Notice is

hereby given, that the above-named Road Board intend to apply to the General Road Board for authority
to levy a Highway rate in October, 1870, of fourpence
(4d.) per acre; and the Assessment Roll can be inspected for fourteen days from date, at my house.—John

N. E. HARBOUR, 22nd Aug., 1870.—Intimation

is hereby given to the Ratepayers of the N. E.
Harbour Road District, that the Local Board have
resolved on applying at the next General Road Board
Meeting for a precept to levy a one shilling rate on all
property in the district; and that the Rate Roll prepared for the year 1870-71 will lie for inspection at the
Schoolhouse, N. E. Harbour, from Monday, the 29th inst.,
for fourteen days.—Robert Christie, Collector.

IMPOUNDED on the 12th August, by Inspector

Mackay, two cows; for trespassing on Gold Fields
Commonage, for which one pound each damages are
claimed: one a red cow with white face and back,
branded A Mc off rump; one branded like X near
rump, strawberry color; and if not released, will be
sold at Public Pound, Tokomairiro, on Friday, the 9th
September, 1870, at 12 o’clock noon.—James Goodall,
Poundkeeper.


IMPOUNDED on the 13th day of August, 1870, by

Mounted Constable Culliford: one white yearling
heifer, strawberry neck, branded like JC or JG off
rump; one black and white yearling heifer, branded
like JC or JG off rump; one red and white yearling
heifer, branded like JC or JG off rump; owner
unknown; for trespassing on North Taieri Public Road,
for which two shillings per head are claimed for driving
to the pound; and in default of being released, the
above cattle will be sold at the Public Pound at West
Taieri, on Friday, the 9th day of September, 1870, at
12 o’clock noon.—Michael Tynan, Poundkeeper of
the West Taieri Pound.


IMPOUNDED on the 9th day of August, 1870, by

A. Cameron, for W. Jones, Esq., Goodwood: one
red and white cow, branded like B T on off rump; one
red calf, progeny of the above cow, no brand; supposed
to belong to George Gordon; for trespassing on Goodwood paddocks; for which 2s 6d each damages are
claimed; and in default of being released, the above
cattle will be sold at the Public Pound at Hawksbury,
on the 9th day of September, 1870, at 12 o’clock noon.—Arch. Valentine, Poundkeeper of the Hawksbury
Pound.


IMPOUNDED on the 16th day of August, 1870, by

Mr. Robert M’Auly: one bay filly, no visible
brands, white blaze; owner unknown; for trespassing
on fenced land; no damage claimed; and in default
of being released, the above filly will be sold at the
Public Pound at Oamaru, on Friday, the 9th day of
September, 1870, at 12 o’clock noon.—Francis Collins,
Poundkeeper of the Oamaru Pound.


NOTICE.—On and after the 1st September, the

Road through Section 6, Block XXX, Waihola
District, will be closed.—W. Yardley, Lessee,
Otokia, August 16, 1870.
