MUNICIPAL CORPORATION OF BALCLUTHA.
Appointment of Francis Bullen to prepare the Citizens Roll for the Incorporated Town of Balclutha.
WHEREAS the Town of Balclutha was, by Proclamation dated the eighth day of August current, and published in the Otago Government Gazette, No. 680, incorporated by the name of the “Corporation of the Town of Balclutha,” and certain provisions of the “Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance, 1865,” were, by such Proclamation, extended to and declared applicable to and within the Municipality thereby created: And whereas by the 117th section of the said “Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance 1865,” it is amongst other things enacted that for the purposes of the first elections under the said Ordinance of Mayor, Councillors, and Auditors for any town or place to which the provisions of the said Ordinance, or any of them, should be extended as therein provided, the Superintendent of Otago for the time being should appoint some fit and proper person to prepare the Citizens’ Roll for such town and places, the expense of which should be borne and paid by the Council of the town or place elected thereunder, for which any such Citizens’ Roll should be prepared: And whereas Francis Bullen, of Balclutha, has been represented to me to be a fit and proper person to prepare the Citizens’ Roll for the said incorporated Town of Balclutha: Now therefore I, William Alexander Tolmie, Deputy-Superintendent of the Province of Otago, in exercise of the powers vested in me by the said “Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance, 1865,” do nominate and appoint the said Francis Bullen, to be the person to prepare the Citizens’ Roll for the said Incorporated Town of Balclutha.

ELECTION of Local Board Road Trustees.—Balclutha
Ratepayers in the undermentioned Road District having failed to elect a Local Board to serve for the year ending June, 1871, Notice is hereby given, that a Meeting is appointed to be held for the purpose of electing five duly qualified persons to serve as a Local Board as under:—

TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Land and Works, until noon of Monday, August 15, for Contract No. 54.—Survey of Sections 65 and 66, Block III, Papakaio District, into five and ten acre allotments.
Plan and specification may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the Survey Office, Dunedin.
Tenders to be endorsed “Tender for Survey Contract No. 54,” and to be accompanied by the usual deposit. The lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted.
TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Land and Works, until noon of Monday, the 22nd August, for Contract No. 55.—Survey of 2500 acres, Blackstone District, Run 226, into 50-acre sections.
Plan and specification may be seen, and forms of tender obtained at the Survey Office, Dunedin.
Tenders to be endorsed “Tender for Survey Contract No. 55,” and to be accompanied by the usual deposit.

TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Land and Works until noon of Friday, 2nd September, for Contract No. 487, Construction of a Stone and Iron Bridge over the Avamoa Creek, near Oamaru.
Plans and Specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the Office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin; or at Police Station, Oamaru.
Tenders to be endorsed, “Roads and Works, Tender for Contract No. 487.”
The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.
TENDERS Wanted for leasing the Inch Clutha Punt for 12 months, commencing 16th day of August, 1870. Tenders to be lodged with the Clerk, from whom particulars may be had, on or before Monday, 15th August.—C. V. Brewer, Clerk to Inch Clutha Road Board. Inch Clutha, July 27, 1870.
WASTE LAND BOARD ADVERTISEMENTS.
AND open for sale on 18th May, 1870.—See Gazette published 19th May, 1870, which may be had at the various Survey and Police Stations throughout the Province, and at the Land Office, Dunedin.
NOTICE is hereby given, that Section 2 of 62, Block VII, Pomahaka District, containing 27 acres, 2 roods, and 25 poles, will be offered for sale, by public auction, at the Land Office, Dunedin, in terms of the 64th clause of the “Otago Waste Lands Act 1866,” on Monday the 22nd day of August, 1870, at the upset price of £1 per acre.
NOTICE is hereby given, that Section 41, Block I, Otokia District, containing 143a. 2r. 18p.; and Section 2 of 38, Block III, Oamaru District, containing 40 acres, will be offered for sale by public auction, at the Land Office, Dunedin, on Monday, the 29th day of August, at the hour of noon. The former at the upset price of 20s. per acre, the latter at 25s. per acre.
NOTICE is hereby given, that the following allotments of Rural Land will be offered for sale by Public Auction in the Land Office, Dunedin, on Monday, the 19th day of September next, at 12 o’clock noon.
