IMPOUNDED on the 23rd day of July, 1870, by Mounted Constable Bevan, one red and white cow, branded R K near rump; owner unknown; for trespassing on the Main Road, Anderson’s Bay; and, in default of being released, the Cow will be sold at the Public Pound at Anderson’s Bay on Friday, the 19th day of August, 1870, at 12 o’clock noon.—Hugh Ross, Poundkeeper of the Anderson’s Bay Pound.
HAMPDEN POUND.—All the Cattle mentioned in last week’s Gazette notice by me have been released, save 5 horses of the undermentioned description:—Dark chestnut mare, star on forehead, branded like A off shoulder; one black, white face, three white feet, no visible brand; one bay yearling, with no visible brand; dark brown horse, white hind foot, branded like R S near shoulder, indistinct brand of shoulder; one dark brown horse, stripe down face, indistinct brand on near shoulder.—H. T. Murcott, Poundkeeper of the Hampden Pound. Hampden, 30th July, 1870.
IMPOUNDED on the 21st day of July, 1870, by Mr. George Prain: one Strawberry Bullock, branded Z off rump; owner unknown; for trespassing on grass paddocks; and in default of being released, the above bullock will be sold at the Public Pound at East Taieri, on Friday, the 19th day of August, 1870, at 12 o’clock noon.—James Purvis, Poundkeeper of the East Taieri Pound.
CITY OF DUNEDIN.—Public notice is hereby given, that the Nomination of Candidates for Election to the office of Councillor for South Ward, in room of Mr. Henry Smith Fish, junr., resigned, will be declared on Friday, the 5th day of August, 1870, at the Terrace of the Provincial Council Chambers, at the hour of noon.
Nominations must be in form of Schedule D of the “Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance 1865,” and be lodged at the office of the Town Clerk, Princes street, where blank forms may be had on or before noon of the day herein fixed for the declaration.

MUNICIPALITY OF MILTON.
BY-LAW of the Council of the Incorporated Town of Milton, made under and in pursuance of Section 181, Part XIII, of “The Municipal Corporations Act 1867.”
The Council of the Incorporated Town of Milton ordain as follows:—
I. The Part I, Sub-divisions 1 to 47, inclusive
| II. | 1 to 6 |
| IV. | 1 and 2 |
| VI. | 1 to 6, inclusive |
| VII. | 1 to 7 |
| IX. | 3 only |
| XI. | 1 to 57, inclusive |
of the Thirteenth Schedule to the said Act, are hereby adopted in and for the said Incorporated Town of Milton.
II. The following Bye-Laws heretofore existing are repealed, that is to say—
Bye-Law No. 1, 1867, intituled “Regulations of Footpaths.”
Bye-Law No. 2, 1867, intituled “Regulations of Streets.”
Bye-Law No. 4, 1867, intituled “Regulations of Fires.”
III. Bye-Law No. 3, 1867, intituled “Drains,” (private) is hereby confirmed, with the preamble to said Bye-Laws and the penalty clause at the end of same, which are ordained to be and remain in full force.
Passed by the said Council, this sixth day of June, in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and seventy.
