St. Bathans Gold Field
Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing and lodged with the Warden, at St. Bathans, on or before the 21st day of June.
Copy of the application made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden’s Office at St. Bathans.

Otago Gold Field
Notice of Protection under section 9 of Regulation XXII of the Regulations of the Otago Gold Field
Whereas I am satisfied that by reason of the inclemency of the weather, mining operations cannot conveniently be carried on in the localities known as Clarke’s Diggings and Mount Burster during the winter season;
Now, therefore, I hereby declare that between the first day of June and the thirtieth day of September, both days inclusive, in each and every year until further notice, all claims and mining privileges lawfully held and enjoyed within that portion of the Otago Gold Field described in the Schedule hereto, shall be protected within the meaning of the Regulations of the Otago Gold Field.

All that portion of the Otago Gold Field included within the following boundaries, that is to say—commencing at Mount Ida, thence in a direct line to Kyeburn Hill, thence to Little Domett Peak, thence to Kauroo Mountain, and thence to the starting point.
CLARKE’S DIGGINGS
Public Notification
In conformity with the 29th Section of the “Gold Fields Act 1866,” and to the Regulations made under that Act and the “Gold Fields Acts Amendment Acts 1867, 1868, and 1869,” for the granting of leases for gold mining purposes within the Province of Otago, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease for gold mining purposes of Crown Lands to the applicant specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against granting such lease.
Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing, and lodged with the Warden, at Queenstown, on or before the 24th day of June.
Copy of the application made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden’s Office, Queenstown.

SHLEY DOWNS ROAD DISTRICT – Election
Of Local Board of Road Trustees: In pursuance of the “Otago Roads Ordinance 1865,” and the “Otago Roads Ordinance 1865 Extension and Amendment Ordinance,” I hereby convene a meeting of the persons liable to be rated for roads in the above-named district, such meeting to be held at the house of Mr. Geo. Gibson, within the said district, on Saturday, 6th July, 1870, at noon, for the purpose of electing a Local Board of Road Trustees to serve for the year ending June, 1871.

PUBLIC NOTICE
Given in conformity with Section 1. of Regulation IV. of the Rules and Regulations of the Otago Gold Field.
Whereas I have received sufficient proof that the portion of the Otago Gold Field described in the schedule hereto annexed has been fairly tested, and is either in whole or in part of an inferior character as regards the value of its gold deposits; Now, therefore, I hereby give notice that the same may be occupied by holders of miners’ rights, in claims of the undermentioned size, viz., one (1) acre for each holder of a miner’s right, provided that no block claim shall comprise more than six (6) acres altogether.

Tenders for Land and Works
Tenders will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Land and Works until noon of Friday, 10th June, for Contract No. 486—Supply of 2300 cubic yards of Road Metal, on road “Dunedin to Waikouaiti,” between the Water of Leith Toll-bar and 8th Mile-post.
Specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the Office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin.
Tenders to be indorsed “Roads and Works Tender for Contract No. 486.”
The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.
