the Popotunoa Road District, in manner and as described in Schedule hereto: Now therefore I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of said Province, with the advice and consent of the Otago General Road Board, do hereby proclaim and declare that the boundaries of the said Popotunoa Road District shall, from the day of the date hereof, be altered, and that the boundaries of the said District shall henceforth be as described in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
Popotunoa Road District.
All that area in the Province of Otago, and Colony of New Zealand, bounded towards the north-east by the Lake road; towards the east by the Waiwera River; on the south-west by the boundary of Hundreds; and towards the north-west by the boundary of Hundreds.
Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Otago, this seventh day of June, one thousand eight hundred and seventy.

PROCLAMATION.
Road District of Ashley Downs formed.
By His Honor James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.
WHEREAS by an Ordinance passed by the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Otago, intituled the "Otago Roads Ordinance, 1865," it is amongst other things enacted that, until otherwise provided, pursuant to the provisions of the said Ordinance, there should be sixty-one Districts, which should be named as specified in the Schedule to the said Ordinance annexed, marked B: And it is also by the said Ordinance provided that it should be lawful for the Superintendent, with the advice and consent of the Otago General Road Board, from time to time, by proclamation in the Gazette, to alter, vary, diminish, or enlarge the boundaries of any or all of such districts, and to increase the number of districts by forming and naming new districts:
And whereas it is expedient to form a new Road District to be named the Ashley Downs Road District;
Now, therefore, I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, with the advice and consent of the Otago General Road Board, do hereby proclaim and declare that the area bounded as described in the Schedule hereto, shall, from the day of the date hereof, be constituted a Road District, and shall be named the Ashley Downs Road District.
SCHEDULE.
Ashley Downs Road District.
All that area in the Province of Otago and Colony of New Zealand, bounded on the north and north-east by the Pomahaka River; on the south-east by Waiwera River; on the south-west by the Lake Road to the crossing of the Wairuna Stream; thence on the north-west by the said Stream to Pomahaka River.

Varying the Boundaries of the Road District of Kaihiku.

Kaihiku Road District.
All that area in the Province of Otago and Colony of New Zealand bounded on the west by the eastern boundary of the Waiwera District; on the north by the Main South Road; on the east by the Warepa District; and on the south by the boundary of Hundred.
Given under my hand and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Otago, this seventh day of June, one thousand eight hundred and seventy.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
IN Conformity to the 29th Section of the "Gold Fields Act 1866," and to the Regulations made under that Act and the Gold Fields Acts Amendment Acts of 1867, 1868, and 1869, for the granting of leases for gold mining purposes within the Province of Otago, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease for gold mining purposes of Crown Lands to the applicant specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against granting such lease.
Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing and lodged with the Warden, at Queenstown, on or before the 24th day of June.
Copy of the application made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden’s Office at Queenstown.
Given under my hand, at Dunedin, this third day of June, one thousand eight hundred and seventy.
