HARLINGTON ROAD BOARD.

Tenders will
be received until 4 o’clock p.m., of Monday,
the 23rd instant, for road works in the above District.
Intending contractors will meet at Mr. Cameron’s Store,
Sawyer’s Bay, to be shown the work, on Thursday,
the 19th instant, at Noon. Specifications may be seen at
the house of the undersigned. The lowest or any tender
not necessarily accepted.

SANDYMOUNT ROAD DISTRICT.

Wanted
Tenders for cutting hill on Seal Point Road;
also for about eighty yards of metal on Sandymount
Road. Specifications may be seen at Mr. P. M’Intyre’s,
Seal Point Road, who will show the works on Thurs-
day, the 19th instant, at noon. Separate tenders will
be received by the undersigned until 1 p.m., Saturday,

NOTICE.

Tenders will be received by the undersigned till noon on Saturday, the 21st May, 1870,
for forming 30 chains, more or less, of road, No. 1,
Deborah Bay Road District.
Intending contractors will meet at Mr. R. Lean’s,
“Rocks” on Thursday, the 19th inst., when the work
will be shewn.

HERBERT LOCAL BOARD.

Tenders will be
received up to the 21st instant for Contract No.
2, viz., the formation of parts of the Road leading from
the Main Road to Otepopo Bush. Plans and Specifi-
cations may be seen at the School-house, Herbert, and

FLAGSTAFF LOCAL BOARD.

Tenders will be
received by the undersigned up to noon of Satur-
day, 21st inst., for Contract No. 5.
Plan and specification to be seen at my office, No. 1
Chambers, Princes street, opposite Government Build-

CAVERSHAM ROAD BOARD.

Tenders wanted
for the Repair of Road Line from Anderson’s
Bay to St. Kilda.
Specifications to be seen at Bay View Hotel, Ander-
son’s Bay Road.
Tenders to be lodged with Mr. Rutherford, Chair-
man of the Board, at M’Landress, Hepburn and Co.,
on or before Saturday, the 21st inst. Caversham, 17th
May, 1870.

TENDERS

will be received at the Office of the Se-
cretary for Land and Works, until noon of Mon-
day the 23rd May, for Survey of 2000 acres on Run
345, near Lake Wakatipu, into 80-acre sections.
Plans and Specifications may be seen, and forms of
tender obtained, at the Survey Office, Dunedin.
Tenders to be accompanied by a deposit, or marked
cheque for 10 per cent. of the amount, and to be en-
dorsed “Tender for Survey Contract No. 50.”
The lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted.

Tenders will be received at this office up to the
23rd May next from persons wishing to lease
the Police Paddock at Tokomairiro, containing 46
acres, fronting the Main South Road, and adjoining
the Police Station, being section 104, block XII, Toko-
mairiro District, for a period of three years. The
paddock is securely fenced.

HALFONT.

Tenders will be received up to the
23rd instant, for work on the Coast Road, Chal-
font. Plans and Specifications may be seen at the
Post-office, Hampden, and at my office, Dunedin.—

NOTICE.

Tenders wanted by Puerua District
Road Board, 1st, for making culverts and forming
a portion of Warepa Road adjoining Puerua Church;
2nd, for making a new bridge on Awakiku Road, and
forming a portion of that Road; 3rd, for repairing
bridge and forming a portion of road leading to Awa-
kiku Bush Reserve.
Mr. Christie will show the ground and specifications for
works No. 1, on Saturday, 28th current, at 10 o’clock
a.m.; Mr. Peter Dunn will show ground, &c., for No.
2, 1 o’clock same day; and Mr. A. Johnston will show
ground, &c., for No. 3, at 3 o’clock p.m. Tenders to
be lodged with the Clerk to the Board, on or before
31st inst.
The lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted.

TENDERS

will be received at the Provincial Secre-
tary’s Office, Dunedin, until noon of Monday the
30th inst., for building a boat for the Pilot service.
Plan and Specification may be seen at the Harbor
Office, Port Chalmers. 12th May, 1870.

THE Otago Education Board

invites applications for
the following-mentioned appointments:—1st. A
LADY PRINCIPAL for the Otago Provincial School
for the Higher Education of girls; salary, for the present,
£250 per annum, with free residence and accommodation
for boarders. 2nd. A Governess for the same Insti-
tution; salary, £150 per annum. And 3rd. A Com-
mercial Master for the Otago High School; salary,
£300 per annum.
The Lady Principal will be expected to receive girls
as boarders at fifty guineas per annum. In the event
of the successful candidate for the Commercial Mastership
being unmarried, he will receive a salary of £250 with
free board and residence at the High School Boarding
Establishment.
Candidates are requested to specify all the subjects
they are qualified to teach. Applications with Testi-
monials will be received by the undersigned till the 1st
of June, 1870. Additional information will be fur-
nished on application.

UNIVERSITY OF OTAGO, N. Z.

THE COUNCIL of the University of Otago will

shortly appoint two Professors to the following men-
tioned Chairs:—1st. Classics, to include Greek, Latin,
and the English Language and Literature; 2nd.
Mathematics and Natural Philosophy. Salary of each
Professor £600 per annum with the Class Fees, which
are fixed at three guineas per term. Candidates must
be graduates of some established and recognised Uni-
versity.
Applications and testimonials will be received by the
undersigned till the 1st of June, 1870. Additional in-
formation will be furnished on application.
