Tuaikoto Road District.

  1. 133 chains twenty links in length, sixty links wide, from block line between I and IV, Tuaikito, to section 6, block XXXVIII, Tokomairiro. Boundaries: north-east, by section 7, block XXXIX, and section 6, block XXXVIII, Tokomairiro; south-west, by sections 2, 1, and part of 3, block X, North Tuaikoto.

  2. Forty-eight chains fifty links in length, sixty links wide, from Main South Road to block IV, North Tuaikito. Boundaries: north-east, part block X; south-west, block V, Tuaikito.

Dated at Dunedin this ninth day of May, one thousand eight hundred and seventy.

PROCLAMATION

By His Honor James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.

I JAMES MACANDREW, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, do, by virtue and in exercise of the powers vested in the Superintendent of the Province of Otago in this behalf by the “Roads Diversion Ordinance, 1864,” and of the powers vested in me as Superintendent of the Province of Otago, hereby proclaim and declare that all those roads and all those portions of roads in the Province of Otago, mentioned and referred to in the said “Roads Diversion Ordinance, 1864,” and particularly described in the Schedule hereto, shall, from and after the day of the date hereof, cease to be public roads or thoroughfares, and shall no longer form part of the public roads in the several Road Districts in the Province of Otago, mentioned in the Schedule to the said Ordinance annexed.

Tuaikoto Road District.

Of Impounding Notices:

13th May, Friday noon, a mare will be sold at Caversham Pound.

13th May, Friday, noon, four bullocks and two steers will be sold at Hawksbury Pound.

20th May, Friday noon, a cow and calf will be sold at Oamaru Pound.

20th May, Friday, at noon, four bullocks and a steer will be sold at Hawksbury Pound.

TENDERS

Tenders will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Land and Works until noon of Friday, 13th May, for:

Contract No. 484 — Carting 1800 cubic yards of road metal from Reserve at Water of Leith to main road through Dunedin.

Specifications may be seen and forms of tender obtained at the Office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin.

Tenders to be endorsed “Roads and Works Tender for Contract No. 484.”

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

KURIMOTO ROAD DISTRICT — Notice

Tenders wanted for certain works in Kurimoto District. Intending tenderers to meet the Local Road Board at the Black Pinch on Saturday, the 14th inst.

Tenders will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Land and Works until noon of Monday, 16th May, for the Survey of about 350 acres North Harbour and Blueskin District into sections, and the unsurveyed portion of Blueskin Village into town allotments.

Plan and specifications may be seen and forms of tender obtained at the Survey Office, Dunedin.

Tenders to be endorsed “Tender for Survey Contract No. 48,” and must be accompanied by a deposit, or marked cheque for 10 per cent. of the amount.

The lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted.

Tenders wanted by Ahuriri Road Board for six different contracts:

  • Mr. W. T. Scrimgeour will show contracts Nos. 1 and 2 on Friday, the 13th, between the hours of 10 and 12 o’clock.
  • Mr. J. M’C. Smith will show contracts Nos. 3 and 4 on the same day between the hours of 12 and 2 o’clock.
  • Mr. Robert M’Lay will show contracts Nos. 5 and 6 on the same day between the hours of 2 and 4 o’clock.

Tenders will be received by the Clerk to the Road Board till Monday, the 16th inst.

Tenders to be endorsed — Tender No. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6, as the case may be.

The lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted.

ROBERT M’LAY, Clerk to Local Board, Ahuriri, Port Molyneux, 2nd May, 1870.

Tenders will be received at the Offices of the Secretary for Land and Works until noon of Monday, the 16th May, for the Survey of about 80 acres, Awamoko District, into town allotments. Plan and Specification may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the Survey Office, Dunedin.

Tenders to be marked “Tender for Survey Contract No. 49,” and to be accompanied by a deposit or marked cheque for 10 per cent. of the amount.

The lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted.

SANDYMOUNT ROAD DISTRICT — Wanted

8 Tenders for cutting hill on Seal Point Road; also for about eighty yards of metal on Sandymount Road. Specifications may be seen at Mr. P. M’Intyre’s, Seal Point Road, who will show the works on Thursday, the 19th instant, at noon. Separate tenders will be received by the undersigned till noon, Saturday, 21st instant. — W. H. NOTICE — Tenders will be received by the undersigned till noon on Saturday, the 21st May, 1870, for forming 30 chains, more or less, of road, No. 1, Deborah Bay Road District. Intending contractors will meet at Mr. R. Lean’s, “Rocks,” on Thursday, the 19th inst., when the work will be shown.

Specifications to be seen at same place. — GEO. C. HORNEHOKE, Clerk, Deborah Bay Local Road Board.

6th May, 1870.

HERBERT LOCAL BOARD — Tenders will be received up to the 21st instant for Contract No. 2, viz., the formation of parts of the Road leading from the Main Road to Otepopo Bush. Plans and Specifications may be seen at the School-house, Herbert, and at my office, in Dunedin. — JOHN HARDY, Civil Engineer.

FLAGSTAFF LOCAL BOARD — Tenders will be received by the undersigned up to noon of Saturday, 21st inst., for Contract No. 6.

Plan and specification to be seen at my office, No. 1 Chambers, Princes street, opposite Government Buildings. — E. R. USSHER, Engineer to the Board.
