NOTICE
Of certain Land in the Province of Otago having been reserved for purposes of Commonage for the Town of Hawksbury
By His Honor James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.
WHEREAS the Provincial Council of Otago have, under and by virtue of Section 62 of the “Otago Waste Lands Act, 1866,” recommended that the land hereinafter described should be reserved for purposes of Commonage for the use of the Inhabitants of the Town of Hawksbury; and it is expedient that the said land should be so reserved for that purpose:
Now therefore I, James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me in this behalf, do hereby publish and declare that I have made and dedicated the land hereinafter described a Reserve for purposes of Commonage for the use of the Inhabitants of the Town of Hawksbury, henceforth to be known as the “Hawksbury Commonage Reserve;” that is to say —
All that area in the Town of Hawksbury, containing by admeasurement three hundred and seventy-five (375) acres, more or less, bounded towards the north by the town boundary, towards the east by the town boundary, towards the south by the town boundary, and towards the west by Edinburgh street, exclusive of Cemetery Reserve and sections numbered, respectively 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 12, block XV; 1, 3, 4, and 5, block XVI; 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 21, and 22, block XVII; 17, block XVIII; 1, 2, 3, and 5, block XIX; 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, block XX; 1, 3, 4, 5, and 6, block XXII; 2, 3, 4, and 5, block XXIV; 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7, block XXVI; 7, block XXVII; 1, 4, and 5, block XXIX; 1, 3, and 6, block XXXII; 3, block XXXVII; 1, 2, and 3, block XLI; 5, block XLII; 22, block XLVII; 2 and 3, block LIV; 3, block LV; 3, block LVI; 3, block LXI; 3, block LXV; 11, block LXVI; and 1 and 3, block LXX.
Dated at Dunedin this twenty-sixth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and seventy.

PROCLAMATION
By His Honor James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.
JAMES MACANDREW, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, do, by virtue and in exercise of the powers vested in the Superintendent of the Province of Otago in this behalf by the “Roads Diversion Ordinance, 1865,” and of the powers vested in me as Superintendent of the Province of Otago, hereby proclaim and declare that all those roads and all those portions of roads in the Province of Otago, mentioned and referred to in the said “Roads Diversion Ordinance, 1865,” and particularly described in the Schedule hereto, shall, from and after the day of the date hereof, cease to be public roads or thoroughfares, and shall no longer form part of the public roads in the several Road Districts in the Province of Otago, mentioned in the Schedule to the said Ordinance annexed.
SCHEDULE
Southbridge Road District.
- Thirty-seven chains in length, sixty links wide, from Main South Road on section 7, block XXXIX, Toko-mairiro, to block road-line between section 1, block X.
