NOTICE.
"Provincial Compulsory Lands Taking Act 1870."

NOTICE is hereby given that it is intended to introduce a Bill into the Provincial Council of the Province of Otago, at its next Session, authorising the Superintendent of the Province of Otago to take compulsorily for the purpose of completing a road in the Pine Hill Road District, a portion of Sections sixteen (16) and seventeen (17), Block ten (X), on the map of the North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District; and for the purpose of completing another road in the said Road District, a portion of Section fifty-three (53), Block eleven (XI), on the map of the said North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District.

And notice is hereby further given that a copy of the Bill so intended to be introduced, as aforesaid, may be inspected at the office of the Clerk of the said Provincial Council, on and after the thirty-first day of March now instant.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is intended to introduce a Bill into the Provincial Council of the Province of Otago, at its next Session, authorising the Superintendent of the Province of Otago to take compulsorily, for the purpose of completing a road in the Owhiro District, a portion of Section thirty-seven (37), Taieri River, Sections on the map of the Taieri Survey District.

And notice is hereby further given that a copy of the Bill so intended to be introduced, as aforesaid, may be inspected at the Office of the Clerk of the said Provincial Council, on and after the thirty-first day of March next ensuing the date hereof.

Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the Office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin; or, at Police Station, Palmerston.

Tenders to be indorsed “Roads and Works Tender for Contract No. 483.”

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

FRESH TENDERS will be received at the office of the Secretary for Land and Works until noon of Tuesday, 29th March, for—
1st. Contract No. 448.—Supply of 1,600 cubic yards of Road Metal on road “East Taieri Bridge to Tokomairiro.”

2nd. Contract No. 452.—Metalling 4½ miles of the road “East Taieri Bridge to Tokomairiro.”

Plans and Specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the Office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin, or at Police Station, Tokomairiro.

Tenders to be indorsed “Roads and Works, Tender for Contract Nos. 448 or 452,” as the case may be.

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

POLICE DEPARTMENT.—Tenders for supplying the under-mentioned Police Stations with Forage for the twelve months ending 31st March, 1871, will be received at the Government Buildings, Dunedin, until noon of Monday, 18th April, 1870.

TENDERS are invited by the Purakanui Road Board for the following works:—
Contract No. 11. Being the Stumping and Forming about 35 chains, more or less, of the Main District Road.

Contract No. 12. Being the Stumping and Forming about 32 chains, more or less, of the road along Mopanui from its junction with the Port Chalmers and Blueskin road.

Intending contractors will be shown the works on Wednesday, March 23rd—for the upper road, to meet at Mr. Sime’s, at 1 p.m.; for the main district road, at the house of the undersigned, at 3 p.m.

Specifications can be seen, and tenders lodged with the undersigned, or at the shop of Mr. Wm. Mawson, bootmaker, Port Chalmers, up till 10 a.m. on Friday, the 25th.—Joseph Mawson, Clerk Purakanui Road Board.

MAUNGATUA.—Tenders are invited for the erection of a Timber Bridge, 64ft. span, across the lagoon in Lower Waipori Flat, near Berwick. Plans and specifications may be seen from the 20th to the 29th instant at Messrs Snow’s Store, Outram, or at my office in Dunedin. Tenders to be sent to Mr. William M’Diarmid, Commissioner for executing the duties of a Local Board in the District of Maungatua.—John HARDY, Engineer to the District.
