and necessary to suspend the powers of the said Local Board, and to appoint a Commissioner for the said Incholme Road District:
Now therefore I, James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of the said Province, with the advice of the Otago General Road Board, do hereby proclaim and declare the powers of the Local Board of the Incholme Road District to be and the same are hereby suspended, and I do hereby, with the advice aforesaid, appoint
ROBERT M’AULEY,
of Incholme, in the said Province of Otago, Settler, a Commissioner in the said district, to exercise the rights, privileges, and duties of the said Local Board of the said district.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Provincial Government Buildings, Dunedin, the fourth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and seventy.

Members of the Executive Council of the Province of Otago.
WHEREAS by Proclamation bearing date the twenty-third day of June last past, made by the Superintendent of the Province of Otago, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Province, and published in the Otago Provincial Government Gazette, No. 553, under the hand of the said Superintendent of the Province of Otago, and under the public seal of the said Province, certain Regulations were made for the depasturing of stock on the Waste Lands of the Crown within the Otago Gold Field:
And whereas it is expedient to revoke certain of the said regulations so made and published as aforesaid, and to make other regulations in lieu thereof, and in addition thereto.
Now, therefore, His Honor James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Province of Otago, doth by virtue and in exercise of the powers delegated to the Executive Government of the Province of Otago in this behalf, hereby revokes the regulations numbered 10, 11, and 12, of the said regulations so made and published on the twenty-third day of June last as aforesaid, and doth make the regulations following in lieu thereof (that is to say):—
DEPASTURING REGULATIONS.
Otago Gold Field.

The person, or in the case of a lease to two or more persons jointly, the persons holding or occupying any land within a district, under or by virtue of any grant from the Crown, or any mining, mineral or agricultural lease, shall be entitled to run three head of great cattle free of charge, provided that in the case of a Crown Grant, or a lease to two or more persons jointly, the number of cattle which they shall be together entitled to run shall be no more than three head.

Holders of miners’ rights or business licenses, and holders of land under grant from the Crown, or under any mining, mineral, or agricultural lease within a district, may run cattle there in excess of the number which they are allowed to run free of charge, on obtaining a depasturing license under these regulations, and other persons resident in such district not being holders of miners’ rights or business licenses, or such grantees or lessees as aforesaid, may run cattle within the district on obtaining a depasturing license under these regulations.

Persons desirous of obtaining a depasturing license must first deposit with the nearest gold receiver an application in writing in the form contained in the schedule hereto.

NOTICE.
WHEREAS it is intended to stop up that road which is described in the schedule hereunder written, and which is also delineated on the map or plan mentioned and referred to in the “Taieri Districts Roads Lands Ordinance 1864,” a copy of which map or plan is deposited at the Public School of North Taieri.
Now therefore, I, James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, by virtue and in exercise of the powers vested in me in this behalf by the “Taieri Districts Roads Lands Ordinance 1864,” do hereby give notice that all persons objecting to the stopping up of the said road, are required to set forth a statement in writing of any well-grounded objection they may have to the stopping up of the said road, and to leave such statement addressed to me, at my office in Dunedin, within sixty days from the date hereof, otherwise such objections will not be considered by me.
SCHEDULE.
Breadalbane.
34 chains in length, 60 links wide, from District Road at north-east angle of section 16, block XVIII, Taieri, to Dunedin and West Taieri Road: bounded on the north-west by section 62, irregular block, and on the south-east by sections 46 and 47, Riverside, Taieri.
22 chains in length, 60 links wide, from Dunedin and West Taieri Road to River Bank Reserve, West Taieri Bridge: bounded on the north-east by section 62, irregular block, Taieri; and on the south-west by section 48 and part of 48, river section, Taieri.
Dated at Dunedin, this twenty-fifth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and seventy.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
In conformity to the 29th Section of the “Gold Fields Act 1866,” and to the Regulations made under that Act and the Gold Fields Acts Amendment Acts of 1867, 1868, and 1869, for the granting of leases for gold mining purposes within the Province of Otago, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease for gold mining purposes of Crown Lands to the applicant specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against granting such lease.
