THE Settlers of the North-East Harbor District
are hereby notified that all cattle found straying on the roads of the District after this date will be impounded.—Geo. P. Bell, Clerk to the Board.
IMPOUNDED
on the 12th day of February, 1870, by the Wingatui Road Board one dark grey horse (or roan), branded like Y indistinct near shoulder, shod all round, collar-marked, about 4 years old, owner unknown; for trespassing on the Wingatui Roads, for which no damage is claimed, and in default of being released the above horse will be sold at the Public Pound at East Taieri, on the 11th day of March, 1870, at 12 o’clock noon.—James Purvis, Poundkeeper of the East Taieri Pound.

BOUNDARIES of the following Districts, under the “Marriage Act” and “Registration Act,” to take effect from 1st March, 1870:—
Otepopo District.
Comprises all that area bounded towards the North by the northern branch of the Kakanui River to its source, and thence by a line in a westerly direction to the Kakanui Mountains; towards the East by the ocean; and towards the South-west by the Horse Range and the Kakanui Mountains.
Oamaru District.
Comprises all that area bounded on the North and North-east by the Province of Canterbury; on the East by the ocean; on the South by the northern branch of the Kakanui River to its source, and thence by a line in a westerly direction to the Kakanui Mountains; towards the West by the Kakanui Mountains, the Hawkdun Mountains, and the Dunstan Mountains, from Mount St. Bathan’s to the Province of Canterbury.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint John Burnside, Esq., to the following offices, viz.:—
Returning and Registration Officer for the Districts of City of Dunedin, Roslyn, and Caversham, for the election of Members of the House of Representatives;
Returning Officer for the Districts of the City of Dunedin, the Peninsula, Caversham and Green Island, Wakari and North Harbour, for the election of Members of the Provincial Council of the Province of Otago; and
Principal Returning Officer for the Province of Otago;
vice John Gillies, Esq., resigned.
These appointments to take effect on and from the 1st day of February, 1870.
