TENDERS AND NOTICES

For Forming and Metalling about 55 chains of road.
Sections and Specifications may be seen at the office of Mr. Blair, C.E., Princes-street North.

TENDERS will be received till Thursday, the 17th February, for Cuttings and Repairs to be done upon that portion of the Corstorphine road situated in the Green Island Bush. Specifications will lie at the house of Mr. Robert Crawford, Green Island Bush; and any further particulars may be obtained by applying to the undersigned, with whom tenders are to be lodged.

LANDON LOCAL BOARD.—Tenders will be received up to the 18th inst. for Constructing 129 Chains of Footway on the west side of the Main Road from Town Belt of Oamaru to the Brooke Road; and also for forming parts of the road leading from thence to the sea coast. Plans and specifications may be seen at Mr. Livingstone’s Library, Oamaru; or at my Office, Dunedin.—John Hardy, Engineer to the Landon Local Board.

BOTSFORD ROAD BOARD want Tenders for the supply of 100 yards Broken Metal, and for the Forming of Road and Spreading of 400 yards Metal.
Mr. Kerr, of Abbot’s Creek Colliery, will point out the whereabouts on Friday, the 18th inst.
Tenders to be lodged with the undersigned, on or before the 21st instant.—William Martyn, Clerk to the Board.

CORSTORPHINE.—Tenders will be received until Wednesday, 23rd February, for widening and otherwise improving 98 chains of the Corstorphine Road—adjoining Russell and M’Leod’s Contract.
Specifications may be seen at my house.—John Sidey, Clerk to the Local Board.

PUERUA ROAD BOARD.—Tenders are invited by the above Road Board, for Forming and Opening Up, by means of Cuttings and Culverts, &c., a portion of the Block Road Line between Blocks X and XIV, Clutha Survey District; and also, for Repairing Bridge and forming Approaches to it, on the road leading to Awakiki Bush Reserve.
Mr. Anderson, Bridgend, will show intending Tenderers the Road Line and Specifications, &c., &c., on the 23rd current, at 12 o’clock noon.
Tenders to be lodged with the Clerk to the Board not later than the 27th current. The lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted.—By order of the Puerua Local Road Board. February 3rd, 1870.

HIGH SCHOOL.—The current quarter commenced on Monday, January 31st. The School fee is £2 per quarter, and is payable in advance. Full information about the School may be obtained on application.

PUBLIC LIBRARIES.—The Education Board will shortly forward an order to Britain for a fresh supply of Books for the Public Libraries of Otago. Library Committees are invited to send to the undersigned, as soon as possible, lists of such books as they may wish to be procured for them by the Board.
Priced lists of books may be obtained on application.

WANTED, a Teacher for the Kakanui Side School. Salary, £75 per annum and school fees. Applications with testimonials to be addressed to the undersigned on or before the 20th Feby., 1870.

PROVINCIAL SCHOLARSHIPS.—The Competitive Examination for the Provincial Scholarships will be held in the Provincial Council Hall, Dunedin, upon Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, the 16th, 17th, and 18th days of February 1870, at 9 o’clock each morning.

WANTED. A Master for the District School at Hamilton. A married man preferred. Guaranteed Salary £100 per annum, with School fees in addition, amounting to about £30. Applications will be received up to the 19th February; and to be addressed to the Secretary School Committee, Hamilton.

THE OTAGO WASTE LANDS ACT 1866 AMENDMENT ACT 1869.
Mr. James Christie, of Airlie Bank, is authorised by His Honor the Superintendent, under the provisions of Section 13 of the above-mentioned Act, to impound all cattle found trespassing upon any Public Road within the limits of the North East Harbor Road District.

NOTICE TO DRAYMEN AND OTHERS.—The Road from Havelock to Lawrence will be closed against traffic during repairs thereof.

PUBLICANS’ LICENSES.—The Quarterly Meetings for granting Licenses, &c., will be held in the various Licensing Courts within the Province, at noon on Tuesday, the 1st March, 1870. Applications, &c., respecting business, must be made to the respective Clerks of Court at least 14 clear days before such meeting, otherwise the business cannot be transacted.

REGISTRATION FORMS for applying to be put on Electoral Roll may be obtained from any of the Registration Offices within the Province, or from the Government Storekeeper.

THE Gazette will be sent gratis on and after this date to every person who formerly received the Advertisement Sheet: as that publication in a separate form has now been discontinued.

One Ranger for the Central Hundreds, and one Ranger for the Northern Hundreds. Applications to be made to the Chief Commissioner of the Waste Land Board, on or before noon of 15th February next.
