PROCLAMATION

By His Honor James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.

WHEREAS by the Ordinance of the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Otago, passed in the twenty-fifth Session of the said Provincial Council, number 280, and intituled an Ordinance to Incorporate the University of Otago, it is enacted, amongst other things, that the Council of the University of Otago should be nominated and appointed by the Superintendent of the said Province of Otago, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, within six months after the passing of the said Ordinance, and should consist of twelve Councillors, of whom six at least should be laymen: And whereas it is expedient that the Council of the said University should be appointed without delay: Now therefore I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Province, and in pursuance of the power for this purpose vested in me under or by virtue of the said Ordinance, do hereby nominate and appoint

NOTICE

Notice is hereby given that the Gold Mining Lease granted to JOHN ELLIOTT, for Section 6, Block X, Skipper’s Creek, and the Mining Lease Certificate granted to TAN SACR, for Section 12, Block XIX, Shotover District, for gold mining purposes, has been cancelled, and that the said land is open for occupation by holders of Miners’ Rights.

Notice is hereby given that the Agricultural Leases and Occupation Certificates prepared in favor of the undermentioned persons have been cancelled, and the Sections indicated are re-open for agricultural purposes:—

John Kapatzo and Others, “Shamrock Company,” six acres of land at the junction of the Dead Horse and Moonlight Creeks, being Section 4, Glenorchy District;
William Hoskin and Others, “Nil Desperandum Company,” Section 3, Glenorchy District, containing 6 acres;
William Evans, “Perseverance Company,” Section 10, Block XVIII, Tuapeka East, containing 1 acre 1 rood 0 perches.

The sections are from 33 to 92 acres each.

All unsold lands (exclusive of Reserves) in the Townships of Waipori, Lawrence, Wetherstones, Havelock East and West, and Dalhousie, will be offered for sale by public auction, by Mr. Nicolson, at the Survey Office, Lawrence, on Tuesday, the twenty-third day of November next, at 12 o’clock noon.

All unsold lands (exclusive of Reserves) in the Township of Waikaia will be offered for sale, on the ground, by Mr. Nicolson, on Thursday, the twenty-fifth day of November next, at 12 o’clock noon.

The unsold lands (exclusive of Reserves) in the Township of Tapanui will be offered for sale, on the ground, by Mr. Nicolson, on Saturday, the twenty-ninth day of November next, at 12 o’clock noon.

At the Land Office, Dunedin, all unsold lands in the Townships of Blueskin, Greytown, Outram, Berwick, Maungatua, Hull (except Reserves) will be offered for sale by public auction, on Tuesday, the twenty-third day of November next, at 12 o’clock noon.

At the Court-house, Hawksbury, all unsold lands in the Townships of Palmerston, Waikouaiti, and Hawksbury (except Reserves) will be offered for sale by public auction, on Thursday, the twenty-fifth day of November next, at 12 o’clock noon.

At the Auction Rooms of H. France, Esq., the Townships of Maheno and Oamaru will be offered for sale by public auction.
