PROCLAMATION:

By His Honor James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago,

I, JAMES MACANDREW, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, do, by virtue and in exercise of the powers vested in me in this behalf by the “Roads Diversion Ordinance 1868,” hereby proclaim and declare that all those roads and all those portions of roads in the Province of Otago, mentioned and referred to in the said “Roads Diversion Ordinance 1868,” and particularly described in the Schedule hereto, shall, from and after the day of the date hereof, cease to be public roads or thoroughfares, and shall no longer form part of the public roads in the several Road Districts in the Province of Otago, mentioned in the Schedule to the said Ordinance annexed.

SCHEDULE

Broad Bay Road District No. 18.

All that area in the Province of Otago, containing by admeasurement 2a. 0r. 19p., more or less, being a road line situate in the Otago Peninsula Survey District; bounded towards the north-west and north-east by sections numbered 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, and part of No. 35, block VII, Portobello Survey District, 3560 links, more or less; and on the south-west and south-east by section No. 19, block II, Otago Peninsula Survey District, 3500 links, more or less.

Given under my hand and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Otago, this eighth day of September, 1869.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Gold Mining Leases granted to the undermentioned persons—

Edward Alexander Withers, for section 16, Blackstone District;

cease to be public roads or thoroughfares and shall no longer form part.

James Taylor and others, for section 6, Blackstone District;
Joshua Storey and others, for section 9, Blackstone District;
Richard Jackson, for section 4, Blackstone District;
Peter Howard and others, for section 7, Blackstone District;
Edward Walsh and others, for section 3, Blackstone District;
Samuel Jones, for section 14, Skipper’s Creek District;
The Skipper’s Creek Quartz Mining Company, for 4 acres and 3 perches of land, situate at the Scandinavian Reef, Skipper’s, adjoining the “Rose Diamond” Company’s Claim;

for Gold Mining purposes, has been cancelled, and that the said land is open for occupation by holders of Miners’ Rights.

NOTICE is hereby given, that the Gold Mining Leases prepared in favor of the undermentioned persons have been cancelled by the Government—

James Duff, section 1, Blackstone District
Thomas Conner, section 2, Highlay District
James M’Kay, section 3, Highlay District
Edward M’Kane, section 1, Highlay District
Edward Clark, section 5, Highlay District

and the said land is now open for application by holders of Miners’ Rights.
