NOTICE is hereby given, that the Gold Mining Lease granted to Rudolph Platow and others, United Gold Mining Company, for Section 4, Block 18, Shotover Survey District, Province of Otago, for Gold Mining purposes, has been cancelled, and the said Section is now open for occupation by holders of Miners’ Rights.

ELECTION OF LOCAL BOARDS ROAD TRUSTEES.—Ratepayers in the undermentioned Road Districts having failed to elect Local Boards to serve for the current year ending June, 1870. Notice is hereby given, that Meetings are appointed to be held for the purpose of electing five duly qualified persons in each district, to serve as Local Boards for such period, at times and places as under:
- Anderson’s Bay.—Monday, 19th July, Schoolhouse, at 7 p.m.
- Caversham.—Monday, 19th July, Drillshed, at 7 p.m.
- Glenavon.—Monday, 19th July, Mr. William Black’s, 3 p.m.
- Otanomomo.—Monday, 19th July, Mr. Quartier’s, 5 p.m.
- Waihola West.—Monday, 19th July, Waihola Gorge Toll-house, noon.
- Glenore.—Monday, 26th July, Court-house, noon.

MR. HARE’S STORE, on Section 18, Block I, Invercargill, in the House of Representatives, District of Mataura, has been abolished as a polling place; and the Old Church, in Thomson’s Paddock, East Road, appointed in lieu thereof. See New Zealand Gazette, 6th July, 1869.
OTAGO HARBOR. Whereas certain persons have lately unlawfully removed gravel, &c., from Pollichem Bay, and other parts of the Harbor of Otago. Notice is hereby given, that any person doing so in future without permission, will be prosecuted as the law directs.

TAPANUI SCHOOL-HOUSE, Tapanui, and the Court-house, Switzer’s, have been proclaimed additional polling places for the House of Representatives, District of Wallace, and for the Provincial Council District of Wakatipu. See New Zealand Gazette of 6th July, 1869.
PUBLIC NOTICE.—Application having been made to me, to declare all that portion of the Otago Gold Fields, described in the Schedule hereunto annexed as open for occupation under Regulation VI, of the Otago Gold Fields Regulations, and the same having been duly advertised in the Dunstan Times of the 18th June, 1869, and no valid objection having been lodged thereagainst. I hereby give notice that the same may be occupied by holders of Miners’ Rights in claims of the undermentioned size, namely: one acre for each holder of a Miner’s Right, provided that no block claim shall comprise more than six acres altogether.
