PUBLIC NOTICE.—Under Section 1, Regulation VI, of the Otago Gold Fields Rules and Regulations.—Sufficient proof having been shown to me that that portion of the Otago Gold Fields, described in the Schedule hereunto annexed, has been fairly tested, and is either wholly, or for the greater part, of an inferior character as regards the value of its gold deposits,

I hereby give notice that the same may be occupied by holders of miners’ rights in claims of the undermentioned size, namely—One acre for each holder of a miner’s right, provided that no block claim shall comprise more than six acres altogether.

Given under my hand, at Alexandra, this 9th day of September, 1868.

SCHEDULE.

That portion of the Otago Gold Fields, bounded on the north by the large rock over Italian’s Bend, about half-a-mile below the junction of the Manuherikia with the Molyneux river; on the south at a point on the Molyneux river known as the Hand, about one mile below the Imperial Flume; on the west by the Molyneux river; and on the east half-a-mile from the said Molyneux river.


CITY OF DUNEDIN.—REVOCATION OF AN APPOINTMENT AS FIRE INSPECTOR.

It is hereby notified that the appointment of Mr William Woodland, Captain of the late Dunedin Volunteer Fire Brigade, as Fire Inspector, under the provisions of Part XXI of the “Municipal Corporations Act 1867,” is cancelled as from this date.
