NOTIFICATION

Of the Establishment of a Public Pound at Papakaio.

Dunedin, 26th September, 1868.

NOTICE is hereby given that, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the “Impounding Ordinance 1862,” I have established a Public Pound on Section 63, Block III, Papakaio District, in the Province of Otago, and that I have appointed

Mr. JAMES DALGLEISH,
of Papakaio aforesaid, settler, to be Keeper of the said Pound.

NOTICE is hereby given that the application made by William Hislop for 8 acres of land, situate on north side of Londonderry Terrace, Upper Shotover; Philip Matthews, on behalf of the Mystery Company, for 4 acres of land, situate on north side of Race Course Terrace, Maori Point; for gold mining purposes, have been withdrawn, and that the said land is open for occupation by holders of miners’ rights.

IN CONFORMITY with the 29th Section of “The Gold Fields Act 1866,” it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease, for gold mining purposes, of Crown Lands to the undermentioned:

James Towers and James Stevenson, Section 1, Glenorchy Survey District, containing 3a. 3r. 20p.; William Walsh and others, Section 2, Glenorchy Survey District, containing 8a. 0r. 0p.

HIS HONOR THE SUPERINTENDENT directs it to be notified that he has appointed Foot Constable ELIJAH TITCHENER, No. 267, to be Gaoler at Lawrence, vice Hanlon transferred.
