PROCLAMATION.

Of Governor having assented to certain Ordinances.

By His Honor Thomas Fraser, Esquire, Deputy Superintendent of the Province of Otago.

WHEREAS in the twenty-fourth Session of the Provincial Council of the Province of Otago, held in the thirty-first year of the reign of Her Majesty Queen Victoria, there were passed by the said Council the following Bills, (that is to say)—

“Roads Diversion Ordinance, 1868,”

“Dunedin Reserves Leasing and Sale Ordinance, 1868,”

“Shag Point Coal Reserve Leasing Ordinance, 1868,”

“Warepa Schoolmaster’s Residence and Glebe Lands Leasing Ordinance, 1868,”

“Harbor Reclaimed Lands Sale and Leasing Ordinance, 1868,”

“Port Chalmers Reserves Management Ordinance, 1868.”

And whereas the said Bills were upon the eleventh day of June last presented to the Superintendent of the Province of Otago for the assent of the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, and the said Superintendent did thereupon declare that he reserved the said Bills for the signification of the Governor’s pleasure thereon: And whereas the said Bills have since been laid before the Governor of New Zealand, and he has assented to the same:

Now therefore, I, Thomas Fraser, Deputy Superintendent of the Province of Otago, do hereby proclaim and declare that the said Bills have been laid before His Excellency the Governor of New Zealand, and that His Excellency has assented to the same.

Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Otago, at Dunedin, this eleventh day of September, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight.

ORDER IN COUNCIL,

At the Provincial Government Buildings, Dunedin, the seventh day of August, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight.

Present:
His Honor, Thomas Fraser, Deputy Superintendent;
George Duncan, Esq., Secretary for Land and Works;
John Hughes, Esquire; and
Hugh M’Dermid, Esquire,
Members of the Executive Council of the Province of Otago, and also of the Provincial Council thereof.

WHEREAS by Proclamation bearing date the twelfth day of February last, made by His Honor James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Province, and by virtue and in exercise of the powers delegated to the Executive Government of the said Province of Otago in that behalf, under the provisions of the Gold Fields Act, 1866, certain regulations were made for the Otago Gold Field, prescribing the mode in which application might be made for leases of land for agricultural purposes, the quantity of land not exceeding fifty acres, which should and might be granted in a lease in any particular block, the amount of deposit to be paid by any applicant therefor, and by any objector thereto,
