Sir George Ferguson Bowen, the Governor of New Zealand, in pursuance and in exercise of the power and authority vested in me in that behalf do hereby appoint the said Thomas BIRCH, Esq., to be a Justice of the Peace for the Colony of New Zealand.
Given under the hand of his Excellency Sir George Ferguson Bowen, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same, at the Government House at Wellington, this sixth day of August, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint GEORGE BAILEY, Esq. to be Deputy of the Registrar of Marriages, and of Births, Deaths, and Marriages, for the district of Nokomai and Switzers, as the same is defined in proclamation of twenty-fourth day of June, 1868, and published in New Zealand Gazette, No. 35, of the twenty-ninth day of June, 1868.
