In the matter of a meeting of creditors.

NOTICE is hereby given, that a meeting of the creditors of the abovenamed bankrupts, is hereby convened for Monday the seventh September next, at eleven o'clock in the forenoon, to be held at the offices of Messrs. Cargills and McLean, Princes Street, Dunedin. Business, to consider a proposal made by the Bank of Otago (Limited), to pay the creditors five shillings in the pound, in satisfaction of their claims.

In the matter of a Deed of Arrangement made by Thomas Austin, of Riverton, merchant, a debtor, for the benefit of all his creditors, and in the matter of "The Bankruptcy Act 1867."

NOTICE is hereby given, that application will be made to the Supreme Court of New Zealand, Otago and Southland District, at Dunedin, on Monday the thirty-first day of August, inst., at ten o'clock in the forenoon, for a declaration of the complete execution of the abovementioned Deed of Arrangement.

NOTICE is hereby given, that Monday the 31st day of August instant, has been appointed by His Honor Mr. Justice Chapman, as a public sitting of this Honorable Court for Peter Cartwright, of Hyde, miner, a bankrupt, to pass his last examination and make application for his discharge, under the provisions of "The Bankruptcy Act 1867."

NOTICE is hereby given, that on the twenty-first day of August, 1868, James Roebuck and George Appleby Applegarth, of Stuart street, Dunedin, coachbuilders, trading as Roebuck, Applegarth and Co., filed in the Supreme Court of New Zealand, at Dunedin, a declaration signed by them, and attested by George Elliot Barton, solicitor, that they are unable to meet their engagements with their creditors.

In the matter of the "Bankruptcy Act, 1867."

NOTICE is hereby given, that Henry Houghton, of Stafford street, Dunedin, in the Province of Otago, shipping agent, has this day filed, in this court, at Dunedin, a declaration of Insolvency, in pursuance of the provisions of the above Act.

In the matter of "The Bankruptcy Act, 1867."

MICHAEL SYLVESTER DUFFY, of Hyde, in the Province of Otago, New Zealand, a debtor, this day executed, and, on the 27th of August inst., will be filed, in the office, at Dunedin, of the Supreme Court of New Zealand, (Otago and Southland District,) a deed of arrangement of this day's date, in conformity with the provisions of the said Act; and that he intends to apply to His Honor the Judge for a declaration of its complete execution on Monday next, the 31st of August instant, at 10 o'clock.

WHEREAS by "The Otago Municipal Corporations Empowering Act 1865," it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor to appoint the person elected to be Mayor of any city or incorporated town as therein mentioned, to be a Justice of the Peace for the Colony, provided that in every such case such appointment shall continue no longer than the mayoralty of such person. And whereas Thomas Birch, of Dowling Street, Dunedin, Esquire, has been elected Mayor for the City of Dunedin: Now therefore, I
