HIS HONOR THE SUPERINTENDENT directs it to be notified that he has appointed Sergt. JOHN CASSELS, No. 311, to be Deputy Registrar of cattle and sheep for the Cromwell District.

HIS HONOR THE DEP.-SUPERINTENDENT directs it to be notified that, by virtue of the powers conferred on the Superintendent of the Province of Otago by the "Otago Waste Land Act 1867," he has by warrant under his hand duly nominated, constituted, and appointed JOHN HUGHES, Esquire, of Dunedin, to be a Commissioner of the said Waste Land Board of the Province of Otago.

Southland, 1st July, 1868.

TENDERS will be received at this office until noon of the 30th September, 1868, for the Winton Contract, for the completion of about Fifteen and Three-quarter Miles of the Oreti Railway.

Drawings and specifications may be seen at the Superintendentโ€™s Office, Invercargill; or, at the office of Mr. T. Paterson, Engineer, Dunedin, on and after the 15th July instant.

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any of the tenders.

NOTICE is hereby given, that the above-named Edward Henry Grey, has this day filed in the Supreme Court of New Zealand, Otago and Southland District, at Dunedin, a declaration of Insolvency, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Act.
