NOTICE.—I do hereby notify that having received sufficient proof that the Twelve Mile Creek, commencing at its junction with the Arrow River, and terminating at the head of Beale’s Race, has been fairly tested, and is of an inferior character as regards the value of its gold deposits; Miners may occupy claims therein of the undermentioned size, viz:—One acre for each holder of a Miner’s Right, provided that no block claim shall comprise more than six acres altogether.

NOTICE is hereby given that Monday the 20th July next, has been appointed by His Honor Mr. Justice Chapman, as a Public Sitting of this Honorable Court, for the said bankrupt to pass his last examination and to make application for his final discharge, pursuant to the above-mentioned Act.

NOTICE is hereby given that application will be made to the Supreme Court of New Zealand, Otago and Southland District, at Dunedin, on Monday, the 6th day of July next, at ten o’clock in the forenoon, for a declaration of the complete execution of the abovementioned Deed of Arrangement.

In the matter of the Petition of Arthur Orbell, of Waikouaiti, Licensed Carrier, a Bankrupt, and in the matter of "The Bankruptcy Act 1867."

NOTICE is hereby given that the above-named Arthur Orbell has been adjudged a bankrupt, and that a meeting of the creditors of the said bankrupt will be held at the Supreme Court House, Dunedin, upon Tuesday the seventh day of July next, at the hour of ten in the forenoon, for the purpose of appointing a person to be Trustee of the estate and effects of the said bankrupt and that the said bankrupt shall surrender at the time, hour, and place aforesaid.

NOTICE is hereby given that a Deed of Arrangement between WILLIAM FULLER, of Dunedin, in the Province of Otago, and his creditors, was filed in the Office of this Honorable Court, upon the 29th day of June, 1868, and that an application will be made to this Honorable Court upon Monday, the sixth day of July, 1868, for a declaration by the said Court, for the complete execution of the said Deed of Arrangement.

NOTICE is hereby given that the above-named Henry Hedderwick has this day filed in the Supreme Court of New Zealand, Otago and Southland District, at Dunedin, a declaration of Insolvency, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Act.

HIS Excellency the Governor directs the publication, for general information, of the following reply from His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh to the numerous Addresses of Sympathy from different parts of the Colony. It is hoped that the reply which His Royal Highness has been graciously pleased to make will be accepted in the case of each of those Addresses.

I desire to return my warm thanks for the expression of sympathy which these Addresses contain. Through the merciful interposition of Providence, the injury I received was but slight, and I believe no further evil consequences are to be anticipated from the wound. It has, however, been considered that I shall be unequal to any great exertion for some time, and therefore decided that it would be most advisable for me to return home direct. It is a great disappointment for me not to be able to visit New Zealand, and I am afraid it will also very much disappoint the people there. The cowardly act of one individual has not, in any
