MEETING OF THE PROVINCIAL COUNCIL.

PROCLAMATION.

By His Honor JAMES MACANDREW, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.

IN pursuance of the power and authority vested in me in that behalf, I do hereby Fix and Proclaim that the twenty-fourth Session of the Provincial Council of the Province of Otago shall be holden within the Provincial Council Hall, Dunedin, in the said Province, and shall commence upon Wednesday, the eighth day of April next, at twelve o’clock noon; and the Members of the said Council are hereby warned to give their attendance at such time and place accordingly.

Given under my hand, and issued under the Public (L.S.) Seal of the Province of Otago, at Dunedin, this twenty-sixth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight.

A PROCLAMATION

By His Honor JAMES MACANDREW, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.

WHEREAS by the “Otago Dock Trust Ordinance, 1865,” certain persons named in the second section of the said Ordinance (including amongst others the Resident Magistrate at Port Chalmers for the time being,) and all such other persons as should be thereafter appointed Members, under the provisions of the said Ordinance, and their successors, were constituted a Corporate Body, in fact and in law, by the name and style of the “Otago Dock Board”: And whereas, by the third section of the said Ordinance it is provided that “As often as any person so appointed should die, resign, become incapable to act, be removed, suspended, or absent from the said Province for the space of six consecutive calendar months, it should be lawful for the said Superintendent to appoint, by Proclamation in the Otago Provincial Government Gazette, either permanently or temporarily, as occasion might require, another or other fit and proper person or persons, to be a Trustee or Trustees in the room or stead of the Trustee or Trustees so dying, resigning, becoming incapable, being suspended, removed or absent, as aforesaid”: And whereas there has for more than six months last past been no Resident Magistrate at Port Chalmers, and there is at the present time no Resident Magistrate there: And whereas Alexander McKinnon, of Port Chalmers, Shipowner, one of the persons named in the said second section of the said Ordinance, and thereby appointed a member of the Otago Dock Board, has resigned, and it is expedient to appoint other Trustees in the room or stead of the Resident Magistrate at Port Chalmers, and of the said Alexander McKinnon:

Now therefore, I, James Macandrew, Esq., Superintendent of the Province of Otago, do hereby appoint, permanently, DANIEL ROLFE, Esquire, Mayor of Port Chalmers, and THOMAS TAYLER, Esquire, M.P.C., as and to be Trustees in the room or stead of the Resident Magistrate at Port Chalmers, and of the said Alexander McKinnon.

Given under my hand, and issued under the Public (L.S.) Seal of the Province of Otago, this first day of April, one thousand, eight hundred and sixty-eight.
