NOTICE TO CREDITORS.

NOTICE is hereby given, that by deed of assignment bearing date the twelfth day of February, 1868, and made between Charles Dansey and Archibald Uldifonso Roxburgh, both of Oamaru, in the Province of Otago, tobacconists, (hereinafter styled “debtors”) of the first part; John Hood, of Oamaru, aforesaid, draper, and Edward De Carle, of Dunedin, in the said Province of Otago, merchant, two of the creditors of the said debtors, (trustees for the purposes therein-after mentioned) of the second part, and the several other persons whose names and seals are thereunto subscribed and affixed, being severally creditors in their own right, or in copartnership, or being agents or attorneys of creditors of the said debtors, of the third part, the said debtors and each of them did grant, convey, assign, and set over unto the said John Hood and Edward De Carle, their heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, all and singular, the real and personal estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever of them the said debtors, or of or to which they or either of them, or any person or persons in trust for them or either of them, is or are possessed or entitled, or hath or have any right or interest whatsoever, unto the said John Hood and Edward De Carle, in trust for the equal benefit of all the creditors of the said debtors. And notice is hereby further given, that the said deed has been filed in the Supreme Court, pursuant to “The Bankruptcy Act, 1867.”

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS Her Majesty has been graciously pleased by Letters-Patent under the Great Seal of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, bearing date at Westminster, the fourteenth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-seven, to constitute and appoint me, Sir George Ferguson Bowen, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of St. Michael and St. George, to be Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over the Colony of New Zealand: Now, I, the Governor and Commander-in-Chief aforesaid, do hereby proclaim and declare that I have this day taken the prescribed Oaths before His Honour Alexander James Johnston, one of the Judges of the Supreme Court of the said Colony, in the absence of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the said Colony, and that I have assumed the said Office of Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over the Colony of New Zealand, under and by virtue of Her Majesty’s said Commission.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir George Ferguson Bowen, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of St. Michael and St. George, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, at the Government House at Wellington, and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, this fifth day of February one thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight.
