Lake Waipori District

Comprises all that area which is bounded on the North-west by the boundary of the Hundreds; on the North-east by the Maungatua Educational District; on the South-east by the natural canal in Blocks V and VI, Maungatua Survey District, and by Lake Waipori; on the South by Lake Waipori, Waihola Survey District, and Block VIII, Clarendon Survey District; and on the West by Block IX, Clarendon Survey District; thence by a direct line to the boundary of the Hundreds.

Waihola District

Comprises all that area which is bounded on the North by Blocks IX and VII, Clarendon Survey District, and by Block VI, Maungatua Survey District; on the East by the Taieri River and Block XI, Clarendon Survey District; on the South by Blocks VI, V, and III, Clarendon Survey District, and Blocks III and IV, and Section 40, Block VI, Waihola Survey District; thence by a direct line to Block X, Clarendon Survey District; and on the West by Block X, Clarendon Survey District.

Waihola Gorge District

Comprises all that area which is bounded on the North-east by Block IX, Clarendon Survey District, and Waihola Educational District; on the East by the Eastern boundaries of Block III, Clarendon Survey District, and of Block II, Akatore Survey District; on the South and South-west by the Southern boundary of Block II, Akatore Survey District, and by the line halving Blocks VIII, VII, VI, and V, Tokomairiro Survey District; thence by a direct line to the boundary of the Hundreds; and on the North-west by the boundary of the Hundreds.

Tokomairiro District

Comprises all that area which is bounded on the North and North-east by Waihola Gorge Educational District and Clarendon Survey District; on the South-east by the Ocean; on the South-west by Rocky Valley Creek, and the watershed over Mount Misery and Station H to the watershed of the Ranges leading to Mount Stewart; and on the North-west by the boundary of the Hundreds.

EDUCATIONAL MEETINGS

Notice is hereby given, that the Annual Statutory Meeting of the owners and occupiers of land and householders in each Educational District, established under the provisions of the “Education Ordinance, 1864,” for the election of a new School Committee, will be held upon Monday, the 13th day of January, 1868, at Seven o’clock p.m., at the following mentioned places respectively — viz:

At Dunedin, in the Middle District School-house, between York place and Dowling street.
At East Clutha, in the Main District School-house.
At Tokomairiro, in the Main District School-house, Milton.
At Inch Clutha, in the Main District School-house.
At Wakari, in the Main District School-house; and in the respective School-houses, or Buildings used as School-houses, in the following mentioned districts — viz., Port Chalmers, Portobello, North East Harbour, Anderson’s Bay, North East Valley, Mornington, Caversham, Green Island, East Taieri, Saddle Hill, North Taieri, Lake Waipori, Waihola, Balclutha, Waiwera, Kaitangata, Blueskin, Waikouaiti, Hampden, Otepopo, Oamaru, Lawrence, Queenstown, Waihola Gorge, West Taieri, Maungatua, Clyde, Alexandra, Naseby, (Mount Ida), Palmerston, and Waitahuna.

PUBLIC LIBRARIES

Shortly sent to Britain by the Government for another supply of Public Library Books, the Committees of Public Libraries throughout the Province are invited to forward to the undersigned, as soon as possible, lists of such books as they may wish to be procured.

BLUE MOUNTAIN

Notice is hereby given, that an application has been made to the General Road Board for the formation of a new Road District, to be called the Blue Mountain Road District, and to be comprised within the following boundaries, viz:— The Blue Mountain Road District is proposed to be comprised within the following boundaries. — Commencing at a point on the Main North Road at its crossing the southern boundary line of section 8, block IV, Moeraki Survey District; and from thence bounded on the East by the Main North Road to the Coal Reserve in Block XI, Moeraki; from thence along road line forming boundary of section 30; thence bounded on the North by Watershed, through section 5, block XI, and through block XII to its northern boundary; thence following the northern boundary of block XII to the eastern boundary of block VIII; from thence bounded on the West by the eastern boundary of block VIII to the south-east angle of section 50; thence on the North by sections 50, 49, 48, 47, 46, 45, and 29, block VIII, Moeraki Survey District; thence on the West by sections 30 and 32, said block VIII, and by the Dunstan road passing through blocks VII, V, and IV, to the road line on section 2, Block IV; thence on the South by said road line to the Main North Road at the point of commencement.

And notice is hereby further given that the General Road Board will, at its next monthly meeting, to be held at Dunedin on Thursday, 2nd day of January, 1868, at 11 o’clock, proceed to consider and decide upon such application.

Objections must be lodged with the Clerk to the General Board two days before the day appointed for the meeting.

NOTICE TO LOCAL BOARDS OF ROAD TRUSTEES

All objections to Rates having to be lodged in this office, clerks are requested to apply for same in time, that they may be laid before the Commissioners appointed by the General Board to hear such objections.

KAIKORAI AND ABBOTSFORD ROAD DISTRICTS — ALTERATION OF BOUNDARIES

Notice is hereby given that an Application has been made to the General Road Board for an alteration and extension of the boundaries of the Abbotsford Road District, and the diminishing of the boundaries of the Kaikorai Road District in manner following, that is to say: Commencing at the South-west angle of section 34, block VI, Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District; thence following the southern boundary of said section 34 to the boundary line between sections 40 and 42; thence by a straight line from the North-east angle of section 61 to the North-west angle of section 47, Lower Kaikorai Survey District; thence along the boundary line between sections 37 and 38, said Survey District to the Main South Road; thence following Main South Road to the eastern boundary line of the Abbotsford Road District, and following said boundary line to the South-west angle of section 34, Block VI, Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District.

And notice is hereby further given that the General Road Board will, at its next monthly meeting, to be held at Dunedin on Thursday, 2nd day of January, 1868, at 11 o’clock, proceed to consider and decide upon such application.
