PROCLAMATION.

Road District of Caversham altered and extended, and the Road District of Anderson’s Bay altered and diminished.

By His Honor James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.

WHEREAS by an Ordinance passed by the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Otago, intituled the “Otago Roads Ordinance, 1865,” it is amongst other things enacted that, until otherwise provided, pursuant to the provisions of the said Ordinance, there should be sixty-one Districts which should be named as specified in the Schedule to the said Ordinance annexed, marked B: And it is also by the said Ordinance provided that it should be lawful for the Superintendent, with the advice and consent of the Otago General Road Board, from time to time, by proclamation in the Gazette, to alter, vary, diminish, or enlarge the boundaries of any or all of such districts, and to increase the number of such districts by forming and naming new districts:

And whereas it is expedient to alter and enlarge the Road District of Caversham, and to alter and diminish the Road District of Anderson’s Bay;

Now therefore, I, James Macandrew, Esq., Superintendent of the Province of Otago, with the advice and consent of the Otago General Road Board, do hereby proclaim and declare that the area bounded as described in the Schedule hereto, shall, from the day of the date hereof, be the Caversham and Anderson’s Bay Road Districts.

SCHEDULE.

Caversham Road District shall comprise all that area commencing at the North-west angle of Section 42, Lower Kaikorai Survey District, and bounded on the North by Sections 46, 58, 59, 63, 64, 65 and 99, Block VI, and Section 4, Block VII, Town District, and the Main South Road to Cemetery Reserve; thence by portion of Cemetery Reserve to Section 11, Block VII, Town District; thence on North by said Section 11,

to the Main Road to Anderson’s Bay; thence on the East by said road to the North angle of Section 69, said Block VII; thence on the East by Sections 69 and 82, said Block VII, and that line continued to the Ocean Beach; thence on the South by the Ocean Beach to road line continued South from Section 32, Ocean Beach District; on the West by said road line and part Section 77, Ocean Beach District; North by Section 23; thence on West by said Section 23, 22 and 21, and a direct line from Northern angle of Section 21, Ocean Beach, to the South-west angle of Section 28, Town District; and thence by Section 28, Town District, to the Main South Road; thence on the North by Main South Road to Section 45, Lower Kaikorai Survey District; thence on West by said Section 45, to point of commencement.

Anderson’s Bay Road District shall comprise all that area commencing at the Eastern angle of Section 45, Upper Harbour East Survey District, and bounded on the East by the continuation of the boundary line between Sections 44 and 45, to road line between Section 41, Block III, Tomahawk Survey District, and Section 24, Block I, Otago Peninsula Survey District; on the South-east by that road line to Section 22, Block VIII, Anderson’s Bay Survey District; thence along North-eastern boundary of Sections 22, 21, 20, 19, 18 and 17, said Block VIII; thence along North-western boundary of said Section 17, and its continuation in the same direction to the Lagoon; thence by Lagoon to the Northern boundary of Block VII, Otago Peninsula Survey District; thence by said Northern boundary to the Eastern boundary of Caversham Road District; thence on the West by the Eastern boundary of said Road District to North-west angle of Section 10, Block VII, Town District; thence on the West by Section 11, on South-west by road line to Dunedin Town Belt, and by said Dunedin Town Belt to Otago Harbour; thence following beach line of said Otago Harbour in an Easterly direction to South-east angle of Section 13 (Quarry Reserve), Block V, Anderson’s Bay Survey District; thence on the North and North-west by the South and South-eastern boundaries of the North-east Harbor District.
