CLYDEVALE ROAD DISTRICT.

In accordance with 10th Clause of the "Otago Roads Ordinance, 1865," I give notice that a Meeting of persons liable to be rated for Roads within the above-named newly-created District, is appointed to be held at the house of Mr. William Drummond, Clydevale Ferry, Clydevale, on Wednesday, the 18th day of December next, at three o'clock in the afternoon.

PROCLAMATION.

Road District of Clydevale formed.
By his Honor James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.

WHEREAS by an Ordinance passed by the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Otago, intituled the "Otago Roads Ordinance, 1865," it is amongst other things enacted that, until otherwise provided, pursuant to the provisions of the said Ordinance, there should be sixty-one Districts which should be named as specified in the Schedule to the said Ordinance annexed, marked B: And it is also by the said Ordinance provided that it should be lawful for the Superintendent, with the advice and consent of the Otago General Road Board, from time to time, by proclamation in the Gazette, to alter, vary, diminish, or enlarge the boundaries of any or all of such districts, and to increase the number of such districts by forming and naming new districts:

And whereas it is expedient to form the Road District of Clydevale:

Now, therefore, I, James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, with the advice and consent of the Otago General Road Board, do hereby proclaim and declare that the area bounded as described in the Schedule hereto, shall, from the date hereof, be the Clydevale Road District.

SCHEDULE.

Commencing at the north-east angle of Block I., Banklieburn Survey District, and bounded on the north by the northern boundary of said Block I., and of Blocks II. and III., said Rankleburn Survey District; on the west by the Rankleburn Stream to Pomahaka River; on the south-west and south by the Pomahaka River to its junction with the Clutha River; and on the east by said Clutha River to starting-point.

Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Otago, this twenty-seventh day of November, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-seven.

ORDER

Approving of and constituting the Benevolent Institution at Caversham, near Dunedin, in the Province of Otago, an Industrial School under the provisions of "The Neglected and Criminal Children Act, 1867."

WHEREAS by "The Neglected and Criminal Children Act, 1867," it is enacted by Clause 9 that if any school in any Province should be established by private contributions, and should be supported by contributions in part out of the revenues of such Province under any Act or Ordinance of the Legislature of such Province, and should be approved by the Superintendent of such Province for the purposes of the Act now in recital, the same should, for the purposes in the said Act mentioned, and until such approval should be withdrawn, be deemed to be an Industrial School, or a Reformatory School, as the case might be, within the meaning of the said Act:

And whereas the Benevolent Institution at Caversham, near Dunedin, in the Province of Otago, is a school which has been established by private contributions, and is supported by contributions in part out of the revenues of the said Province under an Ordinance of the Legislature of the said Province, and it is expedient that it should be declared an Industrial School for the purposes of the said Act:
