The lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted.

His office two clear days before the day appointed for such meeting to take place. Meetings of the Board to be held at Provincial Government Buildings the first Thursday in every month, at 11 o’clock in the forenoon.

THE QUARTERLY MEETING

THE QUARTERLY MEETING, under the Licensing Ordinance, will be held at noon, on the first Tuesday of December, in the various Resident Magistrates’ Courts within the Province. Application must be lodged with the Clerk of Council fourteen days at least before the meeting.

THE sale

THE sale by auction of Sections 10, Block 9, Outram, and 12, 13, 17, 18, 19, Block 12, Moeraki District, advertised in the Provincial Government Gazette of the 11th instant, to be held on the 13th day of October, in the Land Office Dunedin, is postponed till Monday the 28th day of October next, at 12 o’clock noon.

APPLICATIONS

APPLICATIONS having been received to purchase the under-mentioned Sections—Notice is hereby given that they will be sold, under the 27th Clause of the “Otago Waste Lands Act, 1866,” to the present applicants at the prices affixed, unless applications shall have been received before the fourteenth day of November next, from other persons desirous of purchasing the said sections:

ROAD DISTRICT OF TAIERI BEACH formed

As proclaimed in last Gazette.

The Taieri Beach Road District shall comprise all that area commencing at the mouth of the Taieri River, and bounded on the north-east by said Taieri River to the eastern boundary of the Waihola East Road District; thence on the west by the said eastern boundary; thence on the south and west by the northern and eastern boundary of the Glenavon Road District; thence again on the south by the southern boundary of Block VI, Claremton Survey District, to the mouth of the Akatore River; thence on the east by the ocean, to the point of commencement.

ANNUAL ELECTIONS LOCAL BOARDS

ROAD TRUSTEES.—The undermentioned Road Districts not having complied with the terms of the “Otago Roads Ordinance, 1865,” in their elections of Local Boards of Road Trustees for the current year, Notice is hereby given that meetings of Ratepayers for the election of such Local Boards are appointed to be held, that for—

1. “Hampden,” on Wednesday, 13th November, 1867, at the house of the Honourable H. J. Miller, at three o’clock p.m.

2. “Lambton,” on Thursday, 14th November, 1867, at the house of Mr. John Mann, at three o’clock p.m.

3. “Lambourne,” on Friday, 15th November, 1867, at the Kakanui Hotel, at three o’clock p.m.

4. “Inchclutha,” on Saturday, 16th November, 1867, at the house of Mr. James R. Elder, at 3 o’clock p.m.

5. “Totara,” on Monday, 18th November, 1867, at the house of Mr. R. Macaulay, at three o’clock p.m.

TAIERI BEACH.—ELECTION OF LOCAL BOARD ROAD TRUSTEES

Notice is hereby given that, in pursuance of the “Otago Roads Ordinance, 1865,” the first meeting of persons liable to be rated in the above-named district is hereby appointed to be held at the house of Mr. Thos. Hughan, within the said district, on Saturday, the 2nd November, 1867, at three o’clock in the afternoon.

Note.—The attention of Ratepayers is specially directed to the 9th, 10th and 11th Clauses of the “Otago Roads Ordinance, 1865,” for mode of procedure at electoral meetings.

GREEN ISLAND ROAD DISTRICT.—NOTICE

THE Precept having been issued by the General Road Board for the payment of the Highway Rate for the Year 1867-8, to the North-east Harbour Road Board; Notice is hereby given that the Collector, for the convenience of the Ratepayers, will attend at the School-house, North-east Harbour, on Saturday, 26th October, from 12 o’clock till 4 o’clock p.m., to receive payment of the above Rate; otherwise it must be paid at my house.

IMPOUNDED, on the 18th day of October, 1867, by Mr. John Andrews, one Chesnut Filly, HA off shoulder; Light Roan Colt, off near shoulder; Bay Mare, branded C off shoulder; one Dark Bay Filly Foal, branded O off shoulder, for trespassing on the Grange Farm, for which 10s. per head damages are claimed; and, in default of being released, the above cattle will be sold, at the Public Pound, at East Taieri, on the 15th day of November, 1867, at 12 o’clock noon.
