ABSTRACT FROM ADVERTISEMENTS

16th October, Wednesday, last day for inspecting Assessment Roll of Wingatui Road District, at the house of Mr. W. Stevenson.

18th October, Friday, noon, a Bay Mare, a grey gelding, will be sold, at Oamaru Pound.

19th October, Saturday, noon, last day for lodging Tender with Mr. J. Aitken, for works connected with Blueskin Road Board.

22nd October, Tuesday, last day for inspecting Assessment Roll of Maungatua Road District, at the School house.

23rd October, Wednesday, last day for inspecting High Cliff Assessment Roll, at the house of Mr. J. Tinnock.

26th October, Saturday, noon, Collector for Portobello Road Rate will attend at School-house for payment of Rate.

28th October, Monday, last day for paying Blueskin Road Rate, at the house of Mr. J. Aitken.

30th October, Wednesday, last day for paying East Taieri Road Rate to Mr. T. Culling, Collector.

1st November, Friday, noon, a Horse will be sold at Tokomairiro Pound.

1st November, Friday, noon, a Red Heifer and Five Calves will be sold at East Taieri Pound.

4th November, Monday, last day for paying Mornington District Road Rate, at the house of Mr. Wm. Knox.

TAIERI BEACH.—ELECTION OF LOCAL BOARD ROAD TRUSTEES

Notice is hereby given that, in pursuance of the “Otago Roads Ordinance, 1865,” the first meeting of persons liable to be rated in the above-named district is hereby appointed to be held at the house of Mr. Thos. Hughan, within the said district, on Saturday, the 2nd November, 1867, at three o’clock in the afternoon.

Note.—The attention of Ratepayers is specially directed to the 9th, 10th and 11th Clauses of the “Otago Roads Ordinance, 1865,” for mode of procedure at electoral meetings.

Applications for Licenses, or for Renewal of Licenses, for 1868, must be lodged in the Superintendent’s Office on or before the first Tuesday in the month of December next.

STEAM TUG

Tenders will be received, at the Provincial Government Offices, Dunedin, until noon of Friday, 8th November, 1867, from parties willing to place a Tug Steamer on Otago Harbour, capable of towing a ship of 2000 tons burthen, until 31st December, 1868.

For particulars apply to Harbor Master. The Government will not bind itself to accept any tender.

NOTICE

CROWN GRANTS FOR LAND

The persons after-mentioned, are now ready for delivery; and attention is directed to the following clauses of the “Crown Grants Act, 1866.”

Use XXXIX.—There shall be paid upon all Grants to hereafter issued, which may be left in the charge or custody of any Commissioner of Crown Lands, or other officer charged with the delivery of the same, a fee of sixpence for every month during which they shall have been so left after the expiration of three months from the date of the notice in the Gazette of the Province wherein the lands are situate, that such Grants are ready for delivery.

Use XL.—There shall be paid upon all Grants issued prior to the passing of this Act, and left as aforesaid in the custody of the officer charged with the delivery thereof, a fee of sixpence per month for every month during which they shall be so left after two months subsequent to the passing of this Act.
