ABSTRACT FROM ADVERTISEMENT SHEETS—

18th March, Monday, noon, Tenders due for Dredging Harbour.

18th March, Monday ten o’clock, Supreme Court meets in its Insolvency Jurisdiction.

18th March, Monday, 10 o’clock, Supreme Court meets in its Insolvency Jurisdiction.

22nd March, Friday, a Chestnut Horse will be sold at West Taieri Pound.

26th March, and following days, Sale of 100,000 acres of Land by Auction, at Provincial Buildings; upset price 10s. per acre.

£500 will be paid for conviction of the person who set fire to Stacks in Taieri District, on 9th or 10th May last.

Waikouaiti to Palmerston: Contract No. 236, supply of 780 cubic yards of Sand or Gravel—P. M’Grath, £89 7s. 6d.

Clutha to Mataura: Contract No. 237, construction of a portion of the Road near the Waiwera—J. B. Blair, £868 18s. 8d.

Clutha to Mataura: Contract No. 238, construction of Road about eight miles from Balclutha—J. B. Blair, £667 10s.

Southern Trunk to Molyneux: Contract No. 239, construction of three portions of Road—Heenan and M’Grath, £560 4s. 7d.

PALMERSTON TO OAMARU.—

Tenders will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Public Works until noon of Wednesday, the 20th March, for Contract No. 247, Blinding newly-metalled Road near Herbert.

Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained at the Office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin.

Tenders to be indorsed “Roads and Works, Tender for Contract No. 247.”

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

Tenders will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Public Works until Noon of Monday, the 18th March, for—

  1. North Trunk to Waikouaiti—Contract No. 243. Metalling Beach Street, Waikouaiti.

  2. Tokomairiro to Tuapeka—Contract No. 244. Supply of 840 Cubic Yards of Gravel in township of Lawrence.

Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained at the Office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin.

Tenders to be indorsed “Roads and Works, Tender for Contracts Nos. 243 and 244,” as the case may be.

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.


Tenders will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Public Works until noon of Monday the 25th March, for—

  1. Bridges—Contract No. 245: the erection of Bridge over the Pleasant River, near Young’s.

  2. Waikouaiti to Palmerston—Contract No. 246, Construction of portion of Road through Block 2, Hawksbury.

  3. Palmerston to Oamaru—Contract No. 248, Gravelling portion of Road near Hampden.

  4. Tuapeka to Teviot.—Contract No. 249, Gravelling portions of Road near Beaumont Ferry.

  5. Palmerston to Eweburn.—Contract No. 250, Construction of Road through Tiverton street, Palmerston.

  6. Main Road through Hampden.—Contract No. 251, Construction of portion of Main Road.

  7. Bridges.—Contract No. 252, Erection of Bridge over the Southern Branch of Tokomairiro River.

Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained at the Office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin.

Tenders to be endorsed “Roads and Works, Tender for Contract Nos. 245, 246, 248, 249, 250, 251, 252,” as the case may be.

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

SADDLE HILL TO WEST TAIERI.—

Fresh Tenders will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Public Works until Noon of Monday, the 18th March, for Contract No. 229, supply of 1,000 Cubic Yards of Metal between Saddle Hill Toll-bar and west end of metalled portion of road.

Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the Office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin.

Tenders to be indorsed “Roads and Works Tender for Contract No. 229.”

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.


CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PORT CHALMERS.—

Notice is hereby given, that a Meeting of the Electors of South Ward will be held at the Town Hall, Port Chalmers, at noon on Wednesday, the 20th March, 1867, for the Nomination of a Candidate to supply the vacancy occasioned by the resignation of Mr. Andrew Thomson.
