Crown Grants, Public Works Tenders, Licensing




NOTICE.—CROWN GRANTS for the Land,

and in favour of the persons undermentioned, are now ready for issue, and attention is directed to the following clauses of "The Crown Grants Act, 1866," passed during the last session of the General Assembly, which came into operation on the 8th of October last:—

Clause XXXIX.—There shall be paid upon all Grants to be hereafter issued, which may be left in the charge or custody of any Commissioner of Crown Lands or other officer charged with the delivery of the same, a fee of sixpence for every month during which they shall have been so left after the expiration of three months from the date of the notice in the Gazette of the Province wherein the lands are situate, that such Grants are ready for delivery.

Clause XL.—There shall be paid upon all Grants issued prior to the passing of this Act, and left as aforesaid in the custody of the officer charged with the delivery thereof, a fee of sixpence per month for every month during which they shall be so left after two months subsequent to the passing of this Act.

DUNEDIN TO PORTOBELLO.—Tenders will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Public Works until noon of Monday the 11th of March, for Contract No. 241.—Formation of portion of Road through Block IV, Portobello Bay District.

Plans and Specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the Office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin.

Tenders to be indorsed "Roads and Works, Tender for Contract No. 241."

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

New Tolls.—Contract No. 233. Toll at Stony Creek; J. Hollick, £197 11s. 3d. Toll at Pleasant River; E. Horsman, £213 16s. 5d.

Dunedin to East Taieri Bridge.—Contract No. 235. Supply of 1000 cubic yards of metal between 17th and 22nd mile post; J. B. Blair, £460 8s. 4d.

DREDGING HARBOUR.—Fresh Tenders will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Public Works, until noon of Monday, the 11th day of March, 1867, for Contract No. 234: Constructing Training Walls and Dredging Channel, Rattray Street Jetty.

Plans and Specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the Office of Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin.

Tenders to be endorsed, "Roads and Works, Tender for Contract No. 234."

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

A MEETING will be held at 2 o’clock on Thursday, March 14, 1867, in the Provincial Secretary’s Office, Dunedin, to consider the application of William Winter Tracy, Dunedin, for an Auctioneer’s Licence.

JETTY SHED.—The time for receiving the Tenders for the above work is postponed until Noon of Thursday, 28th February current.


The management of the lands and hereditaments described in the Schedule to the said Ordinance annexed, in the said Corporation of the City of Dunedin and its successors as a corporate body, in trust for purposes of public recreation for the Town of Dunedin and its inhabitants, and to carry out and secure the due maintenance and fulfilment of the several purposes for which such lands respectively have been reserved: in witness whereof the said Thomas Dick hath hereunto subscribed his name, and hath caused the Public Seal of the said Province to be hereunto affixed the day and year first before written.
