✨ Licensing Districts and Public Pound
Blueskin Survey District in a southerly direction by the western boundary line of the said Block 4, to the northern boundary line of Block 6, North Harbor and Blueskin Survey District; thence by the said northern boundary line of the said Block 6, and the northern boundary line of Block 7, North Harbor and Blueskin Survey District, to the Main North Road; thence by the Main North Road to the northern boundary line of the North-east Valley Survey District; thence in a westerly direction by the said northern boundary line of the North-east Valley District to a road line between Sections 87 and 89 of the said district; thence by the said road line continued between Sections 86 and 88, North-east Valley District, to the northern boundary line of Block 9, North Harbor and Blueskin Survey District; thence in an easterly direction by the said northern boundary line of the said Block 9, to the north-west corner of Section 33, Sawyer’s Bay Survey District; thence in a south-easterly direction by the boundary line of the said Sawyer’s Bay Survey District to Otago Harbor; and thence by high-water mark to the starting point.

Taieri Licensing District shall, for the purposes of this Ordinance, comprise all that area bounded towards the north by a line proceeding from the western watershed of the Upper Taieri River due east through Rock and Pillar Mountain to the Waikouaiti Licensing District; towards the east by the Waikouaiti and Dunedin Licensing Districts; towards the south by the Taieri River, Waihola Lake, and Meggat Burn to the boundary of the Hundreds; thence towards the west by the Lawrence and Mount Benger Licensing Districts.

Tokomairiro Licensing District shall, for the purposes of the said Ordinance, comprise all that area bounded towards the west by the Clutha Licensing District; towards the north by the Lawrence and Taieri Licensing Districts; and towards the east and south by the Dunedin Licensing District and the Ocean.

Clutha Licensing District shall, for the purposes of the said Ordinance, comprise all that area bounded towards the north by the Queenstown and Mount Benger Districts; towards the east by the Lawrence Licensing District, Lovell’s Creek, the Tuakitoto Lake, Kaitangata Lake and Creek, and the Clutha River; towards the south by the Ocean; and towards the west by the Province of Southland.

Naseby Licensing District shall, for the purposes of the said Ordinance, comprise all that area bounded towards the north and east by the Oamaru Licensing District; towards the south by the Waikouaiti and Taieri Licensing Districts; towards the west by the Mount Benger Licensing District to South Roughridge Hill; thence by the Roughridge to Mount Ida.

Lawrence Licensing District shall, for the purposes of the said Ordinance, comprise all that area bounded by a line proceeding from the Clutha River along Fruid Burn to the Lammerlaw; thence by the eastern watershed of the Waipori River to the boundary of the Hundreds; thence by the boundary of the Gold Field to a point due east of Spylaw Burn; and thence in an easterly direction in a direct line to Fruid Burn at its junction with the Clutha River.

St. Bathans Licensing District shall, for the purposes of the said Ordinance, comprise all that area bounded by a line proceeding from Mount St. Bathans due east to the Hawkdun Mountains; thence along the Hawkdun Mountains to Mount Ida; thence along the western boundary of the Naseby Licensing District to South Roughridge Hill; thence in a north-westerly direction along the boundary of Clyde Licensing District to the Dunstan Mountains; thence in a north-easterly direction along the Dunstan Mountains to Mount St. Bathans, the starting point.

Mount Benger Licensing District shall, for the purposes of the said Ordinance, comprise all that area bounded towards the north by the Clyde Licensing District; towards the east by the ranges from South Roughridge Hill to the Lammerlaw; towards the south by the Lawrence Licensing District, the Spylaw Burn, and Parasol Creek; and towards the west by the Queenstown Licensing District.

Cromwell Licensing District shall, for the purposes of the said Ordinance, comprise all that area bounded towards the north by the Province of Canterbury; towards the east by the Province of Canterbury and the Oamaru Licensing District; towards the south by the Clyde and St. Bathans Licensing Districts; and towards the west by the Arrow and Queenstown Licensing Districts, and a line from Fox Peak along the eastern branch of the Matukituki River to the Province of Canterbury.

Arrow Licensing District shall, for the purposes of the said Ordinance, comprise all that area bounded towards the north and east by a line proceeding from Mount Hyde to Mount Alpha; thence over Little Cruffel to Mount Pisa; thence along the ranges to Kirtleburn by its southern feeder; thence to Kawarau River; and towards the south and west by the Queenstown Licensing District.

NOTICE is hereby given, that by virtue of the powers vested in me by the “Impounding Ordinance, 1862,” I have established a Public Pound on the Government Reserve between the Public Esplanade and Itchen Street, in the Incorporated Town of Oamaru, in the Province of Otago, and that I have appointed
MR. JOHN GRAY,
of Oamaru aforesaid, settler, to be Keeper of the said Pound.
