junction of the Swift Burn with the Arrow River,
thence along the Arrow River to the eastern boundary
of block VIII, Shotover District, thence by a line due
north to the northern boundary of block X, Shotover
District, thence along the northern boundary of the
said block X to the Arrow River, thence along the
Arrow River and Soho Creek to the dividing range
between Soho Creek and the south branch of
the Motatapu River, thence along the watershed of the
Cardrona River and Soho Creek in a southerly direction
to the Peak, thence by a straight line to the source of
the nearest tributary to the Cardrona River in a northeasterly direction, thence along that tributary to its
junction with the Cardrona River, thence along the
Cardrona River to its source, thence by a line to the
source of the Swift Burn, and along that stream to its
junction with the Arrow River, the starting point.

Fourth, All that area situate in the Province of Otago,
containing by admeasurement twenty-one thousand five
hundred acres more or less, situate in the Interior District, being portions of Runs originally numbered 386,
356, and 340 respectively, and now known as Blocks 1,
2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10, Shotover Survey District,
and Waste Lands of the Crown, adjoining the said
Blocks 4, 5, 6, and 7, Shotover District aforesaid,
bounded towards the north by Runs numbered respectively 10 and 11, towards the east by Runs numbered
respectively 11 and 13, towards the south by the
Kawarau River, and towards the west by Runs numbered respectively 1 and 10, as before described.

Given under my hand, and issued under the
Public Seal of the Province of Otago,
this ninth day of February, one thousand
eight hundred and sixty-seven.

PROCLAMATION

Varying and altering the Licensing Districts under
the Licensing Ordinance, 1865.

By His Honor Thomas Dick, Esquire, Superintendent
of the Province of Otago.

WHEREAS it is expedient to vary and alter the
Licensing Districts of the Province of Otago:
Now therefore I, Thomas Dick, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, by virtue and in exercise
of the powers vested in me in this behalf under and by
virtue of the seventeenth section of the “Licensing Ordinance,
1865,” do hereby proclaim and declare that from and
after the day of the date hereof and until further
notice, there shall be within the Province of Otago
fifteen Licensing Districts, to be called respectively as
follows:—

  1. Clyde Licensing District
  2. Queenstown Licensing District
  3. Oamaru Licensing District
  4. Waikouaiti Licensing District
  5. Dunedin Licensing District
  6. Port Chalmers Licensing District
  7. Taieri Licensing District
  8. Tokomairiro Licensing District
  9. Clutha Licensing District
  10. Naseby Licensing District
  11. Lawrence Licensing District
  12. Saint Bathans Licensing District
  13. Mount Benger Licensing District
  14. Cromwell Licensing District
  15. Arrow Licensing District

And I do hereby proclaim and declare that the said
several Districts shall be respectively bounded and
defined in manner following, (that is to say),—

  1. Clyde Licensing District shall, for the purposes
    of the said Ordinance, comprise the townships
    of Alexandra and Clyde, and all that area
    bounded by a line proceeding from South
    Roughridge Hill to Cairn Hill; thence over
    the Obelisk to a point due south of the Carrick Mountains; thence to and along the
    Carrick Mountains to the Kawarau River;
    thence along the Kawarau River in an easterly
    direction to Bannockburn at its junction;
    thence to and along the northern boundary of
    Run numbered 325 to the Clutha River;
    thence along the Clutha River to Leaning
    Rock Creek; thence by Leaning Rock Creek
    to Leaning Rock Hill; thence to Chattoburn
    at its source, and by Chattoburn to the
    Manuherikia River; and thence in a direct
    line to South Roughridge Hill, the starting
    point.

  2. Queenstown Licensing District shall, for the
    purposes of the said Ordinance, comprise the
    townships of Kingston, Queenstown, and
    Frankton, and all that area bounded on the
    south-western corner of Run 193 by the Province of Southland to Eyre Peak; thence by
    the western and northern watersheds of the
    Wakatipu Lake to Fox Peak; thence by the
    eastern watershed of the Shotover River to
    the Kawarau River; thence by the Kawarau
    River to the western boundary of the Clyde
    Licensing District; thence by the said western boundary of Clyde Licensing District to
    the Garvie Mountains; thence to Remarkable
    Gap; thence by the ranges to the Wakaia
    River; thence by Wakaia River and White
    Coombe Creek to White Coombe; thence by
    the Umbrella Mountains to the Black Umbrella Mountain; thence by the eastern boundaries of Runs numbered 254 and 193, and
    the southern boundary of Run 193, to the
    starting point.

  3. Oamaru Licensing District shall, for the purposes of the said Ordinance, comprise all that
    area bounded towards the north by a line
    proceeding from Mount Ida along the west
    branch of the Otamatakau Stream to the
    Waitaki River; towards the east by the Province of Canterbury; towards the south by
    the Ocean; and towards the west by the
    Horse Ranges and Kakanui Mountains to
    Kyeburn Hill; thence by the ranges to
    Mount Ida, the starting point.

  4. Waikouaiti Licensing District shall, for the
    purposes of the said Ordinance, comprise all
    that area bounded towards the south by a
    line proceeding from Brinn’s Point due west
    to the Silver Peak Hills; thence proceeding
    in a northerly direction to the ranges north
    of Deepdell Creek; thence in a northeasterly direction to Highlay Hill; thence
    due east to the Oamaru Licensing District;
    thence by the western boundary of the said
    Oamaru Licensing District to the Ocean, and
    by the Ocean to the starting point.

  5. Dunedin Licensing District shall, for the
    purposes of the said Ordinance, comprise all
    that area bounded towards the north by Waikouaiti and Port Chalmers Licensing Districts;
    towards the east by the Port Chalmers Licensing District and the Ocean; towards the
    south by the Ocean; and towards the west
    by the Taieri River and the boundary of the
    Gold Fields.

  6. Port Chalmers Licensing District shall, for the
    purposes of the said Ordinance, comprise all
    that area including the Town of Port Chalmers, the Lower Harbour West Survey District, the Sawyer’s Bay Survey District, Sections
    numbered 88 to 115 inclusive, North-East
    Valley Survey District, and Blocks 4, 5,
    6, and part of 7, North Harbour and Blueskin
    Survey District; bounded from the north-west corner of Block 4, North Harbour and
