25th January, Friday, noon, a Strawberry Spotted Bull will be sold at East Taieri Pound.

26th January, Saturday, three o’clock, Meeting of Ratepayers will be held at Mr. Pollock’s house, Popotunoa, to elect five persons for Road Board.

26th January, Saturday, twelve to three, Pine Hill Road Rate must be paid to Collector at Water of Leith Hotel.

28th January, Monday, last day for paying Broad Bay Road Rate to Wm. Becon.

2nd February, Saturday, last day for inspecting Assessment Roll for Harlington Road District, between the hours of ten and four, at Mr. Samuel Perry’s house.

4th February, last day for paying Kaikorai Road Rate at the house of Wm. Knox.

5th February, Tuesday, last day for paying Owhiro Road Rate at Mr. John Kirkland’s.

21st February, Friday, noon, two Red Cows and a Polled Cow will be sold at Waipori Pound.

25th February, Monday, last day of paying Mornington Road Rate at the house of William Knox, collector.

25th February, half-past 7 p.m., Meeting in Schoolhouse, N. E. Valley, to Elect School Committee.

30th January, Wednesday, noon, Nomination of Candidate for Corporation of Port Chalmers.

£500 will be paid for conviction of the person who set fire to Stacks in Taieri District, on 9th or 10th May last.

Contract No. 216, Formation of 14 Chains of Road in Blocks V and VII, Oamaru District. Winter and Gibson, £404 17s. 8d.

Dunedin to East Taieri Bridge—Contract No. 221, Supply of 4560 Cubic Yards of Road Metal from 5th to 13th mile post. Matthew Hastie, £2394.

NEW TOLLS.

Tenders will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Public Works, until noon of Wednesday, the 13th February, for Contract No. 233, Erection of Toll-houses and Gates—One at Stony Creek (Tokomairiro to Clutha), and one at Pleasant River (Waikouaiti to Palmerston).

Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the Office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin.

Tenders to be endorsed “Roads and Works—Tender for Contract No. 233.”

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

MEETING

A meeting will be held at 2 o’clock on Thursday, 14th February, 1867, in the Provincial Secretary’s Office, Dunedin, to consider the application of Henry Driver, Dunedin, for an Auctioneer’s License.

The certificate is signed by R. B. Martin, W. D. Murison, Jas. Kennedy, E. Chalmer, P. L. Sise, C. E. Bird.

Also, the application of John Maclean, Dunedin.

The certificate is signed by the same parties who signed the certificate of Mr. Driver.

SALE OF CROWN LANDS—Section No. 32,

Block I, Otokia District, formerly Bush Reserve.

Notice is hereby given that the reserve will be withdrawn from Section No. 32, Block I, Otokia District, and that the said section will be put up to sale by public auction, within the Land Office, on Thursday, the 21st of February next, at 12 o’clock noon, in terms of Clause LXIV. of the Otago Waste Lands Act, 1866.
